✨ Jolly Phonics Fun! ✨

Here at Copmanthorpe Childcare Centre, our Tweenies and Preschoolers love learning Jolly Phonics every day during our morning talk time! 🗣️📚

This month we’re exploring the sounds: S, A, T, I 🎶

We teach these sounds in a special order — this way children can quickly start blending them together to read and spell simple 3‑letter words! 🤩 It’s amazing to see them recognise sounds, put them together and have a go at words all by themselves.

The children absolutely look forward to their morning phonics sessions — they join in, sing, move and learn with huge smiles! 😊🌟

Building confidence and early reading skills, one fun sound at a time. 🚀

🌟 Our Nursery Morning Routine! 🌟

Jo, our lovely Deputy Manager, is here to show you what our morning routine looks like when you arrive at nursery! 🥰

There are a few little steps we encourage the children to do when they arrive:

🪪 Grab your name card from the board
💧 Put your water bottle in the water box
🧥 Hang up your bag and coat
👋 Say goodbye to whoever has dropped you off
🎨 And then… come in and start your fun-filled day! 🥳

These little routines help our children become more independent and confident when arriving at nursery, while giving them a familiar and predictable start to their day. ❤️

🎉 Did you know Copmanthorpe Childcare Centre has been open for 30 years! 🎉

That’s older than some of our staff! 😂

Some of our staff even attended nursery here as children, and we now look after some of our old children’s children. How special is that! ❤️

We pride ourselves on being a family nursery — a real home from home. 🏡

In those 30 years, the nursery has seen so much. Just imagine how many children have walked through our doors over those three decades, and how many memories have been made along the way. 🥰

Four years ago, we experienced the tragedy of a devastating fire and lost everything. 💔🔥 But we started again from scratch, rebuilt and came back even stronger.

Some of our staff have been with us from almost the very beginning, dedicating so many years to caring for and supporting the children and families who walk through our doors.

We are incredibly proud to be Copmanthorpe Childcare Centre and proud of everything we have achieved over the last 30 years.

Here’s to the next 30! ❤️🧸🎉

💛 We’re on the hunt for a few things! 🧸

We wondered if anyone might have any of the following that their little ones have outgrown and would be happy to donate to us. We’d be so grateful! 🥰

🎵 Tonies & Tonie characters – the children are absolutely loving listening to these at the moment, so any characters that are no longer being used would be amazing.

🐶 Hey Duggee – we have a few children who are absolutely obsessed with Hey Duggee, so any toys or items linked to Hey Duggee would be fantastic!

❄️ Frozen – we have a few little girls who are Frozen mad! 💙 If your little one has outgrown their Frozen toys and they’re looking for a new home, we’d love to give them a new lease of life.

🚀 Toy Story – any Toy Story toys, books or anything related would also be very much appreciated.

Everything donated would be well loved and looked after by our little ones. 💕 If you have anything you think we might like, please feel free to message me.

🌿✨ OUR NEW NURSERY GARDEN! ✨🌿

It’s not quite finished yet… but we couldn’t wait any longer to share our progress! 🥰

We still have some exciting new equipment on the way, along with a few cosmetic finishing touches to complete, but we are so happy with how our new garden is coming together. 💚

Most importantly, it’s now ready for our children to explore, investigate, play and make lots of wonderful memories! 🌈🌱🪵

We can’t wait to see their little faces as they discover all the new opportunities our garden has to offer! 🥰

🚧 Exciting things are happening at nursery! 🚧

Our brand-new garden is on its way! 🌿✨

Today, work officially began, and the children have loved watching the digger in action. There has been lots of excitement as they watched the transformation begin! 👷🚜 DBN YORK

Although we can’t use our garden today, that doesn’t mean we’ll be staying indoors. We have a wonderful village to explore, and we’ll be making the most of our local walks and outdoor adventures.

If you spot our little learners out and about, please do say hello and give us a wave! 👋💚

We can’t wait to share the progress with you over the coming weeks!
