Meet our gardening team

We asked the children who would like to take part in gardening. Our four children volunteered to be part of our nursery gardening team.

We decided to plant some flowers at the front of nursery and the team has pledged that they will help take care of the flowers. Checking if the flowers are thirsty and if they are growing.

We discussed what flowers needed to grow and about roots and petals.

We had so much fun, they all did a great job! Well done 🌸

This Week at Nursery 🐥

This week at Liliput, the children had a wonderful opportunity to experience the lifecycle of a chick firsthand.
They were fascinated as they observed the eggs and learned about how chicks develop and hatch.
This exciting experience supported the children's understanding of the natural world and introduced them to the concept of life cycles. Through discussions, observations, and questions, the children developed their curiosity, early scientific thinking, and language skills.
The children showed great interest and care towards the chicks, helping to nurture empathy, responsibility, and respect for living things. It has been a memorable and engaging learning opportunity. 🐣🐥

Ofsted Report 2026

It is official, we can now share our amazing news with everyone!

We are officially STRONG in all areas!

I am beyond proud of our Liliput team, they work extremely hard everyday and the results are identified this in the report! To achieve this level on the new inspection framework is not an easy task. I think we are one of the first day nurseries within the city of York which is amazing!

Celebrating Mental Health Week.
This week we have had a huge focus on Mental Heath and Well being.

Our children have taken part in a fantastic session with Kixx football academy.
This was lovely, outdoor play is vital and encourages co operation, language development and teamwork. Along with improving mood and building emotional resilience.
The benifits are endless.

Our preschool children have also been exploring their self image, talking about what makes them unique. We had lots of lovely conversations and lots of compliments to each other.

This week we are celebrating Mental Health week.
Our children and families really matter to us at Liliput and so do our staff!
Without our amazing staff team we couldn’t offer the fabulous care and education to our children!

Today at nursery we celebrated the birthday of David Attenborough through a range of exciting nature-inspired activities. The children explored the wonders of wildlife and the natural world by taking part in creative arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, animal-themed storytelling, and discussions about how we can care for our planet. The activities encouraged curiosity, communication, and an appreciation for nature, helping the children learn about animals, habitats, and the importance of protecting the environment in a fun and engaging way. It was a lovely opportunity to inspire the children’s love for the world around them while celebrating someone who has dedicated his life to educating others about nature.
