Fishergate School Quiz Night - 6:00pm on Tuesday 21st, April

📣 We're thrilled to invite families at Fishergate Primary School to a family-friendly speed quiz on Tuesday, 21st April. Children are welcome, so be sure to grab your tickets soon as this event is sure to sell out!

🎫 Look out for our fabulous Tamsin who will be in the playground at pick-up time today selling tickets, she accepts both card and cash payments.

🎫 Tickets are also sold in the school office, cash only please

🎫 Price of ticket covers entry to the quiz and the meal, £3.50 for Fishergate pupils and £7.00 for all others.

🍻 Alcohol is sold at an additional cost. Many thanks to for generously providing a keg of tasty beer for this event!

🌷 Mother's Day Stall 🌷

We are delighted to be holding our Mother's Day Stall tomorrow after school. Please let children know there will be an assortment of homegrown and homemade gifts for them to choose from.

You can find us in the playground at 3.15pm tomorrow. Fingers crossed for decent weather, but if it's wet and windy, we may have to move into the lower hall. Either way, here is what we have to offer:

🌸 50p for card-making kits

If you've just found out that your child has a place at Fulford starting in September and want to get in early with some pre used school uniform items then please get in touch with me. I have plenty of blazers, jumpers, trousers, skirts and shirts! Unfortunately I can't help with PE kit at this time, except girls PE jumpers. All proceeds go back into the school's funds. Children can share their love with mothers, grandmothers and others by visiting our stall at the end of the school week.

🎀 Daffodil pots will be sold at £2.00 each,
🛍️ Plus, we'll have badges and card-making kits for sale too!

Our Spring Disco is coming up soon! Get ready to dance the night away on Friday 20th March 💃 🪩 🕺

😎🐰 Our pocket money stalls will have some very cool bunny-themed accessories, tasty snacks, and a brilliant parent will be doing face painting!

Parents of Fishergate: could you help out during during your child's disco? We're looking for 2 helpers per stall, so bring a friend and let us know if you would like to help with food and drinks, selling accessories or badge-making. You can also set up for the event before 6pm or to tidy up after 8:15pm. We look forward to hearing from you 🫶

📣 The manga books are here! For the uninitiated, children's manga books are Japanese comics and graphic novels that offer a fantastic way to give children aged 9+ a slice of Japanese culture, featuring diverse stories that go beyond traditional literature. 📖 📚

These visually captivating books explore themes such as friendship, school life, personal growth, fantasy, and adventure. 🎏 📚 ✨

Friends of Fishergate are absolutely delighted to have funded this exciting new addition to our school's library. It’s wonderful to support our young readers who are already passionate about manga and to expand the reading horizons for other students!

Brrr, it's going to be chilly this week! 🥶 ❄️ We have a lot of children's coats available, so don't forget to pop by our Pre-Loved Uniform Stall after school today in the lower hall.

Our children grow so fast, which is why it's great we have a fabulous selection of coats, school shoes and the usual uniform pieces available for all families in our school community.

🌍 All items are free of cost - let's help reduce waste by choosing pre-loved clothes.

🎗️ Save the date! Our first Pre-Loved Uniform Stall of 2026 is on Monday 26th January. We'll see you in the lower hall after school. All items are free of cost and you will find a wide range of uniform items carefully sorted by age thanks to our fabulous volunteers. There will also be school shoes and winter coats available. Cash donations are happily accepted but not necessary. Thank you! 🌎 💚 ♻️

Seeing the children shop for their loved ones today in the Christmas Shop was an absolute delight 🎄 🎀 🎁

The children were jovial, so thoughtful in their selections, helpful with one another and well-mannered. We hope you enjoy your gifts! They were chosen with real love and care.

We are running our shop once more, tomorrow. Children only need to bring their money, list of recipients and a carrier bag for ease of transport in those little hands.
