Last week, we enjoyed exploring the fascinating world of elephants through a range of engaging messy play activities, games, and creative experiences. These activities provided opportunities for the children to develop their knowledge, curiosity, and understanding of elephants while learning through play

Last week, the children enjoyed learning all about owls through a variety of engaging activities. They explored owls through storytelling, messy play and creative experiences, developing their curiosity and understanding of these fascinating birds.

The children listened to owl stories, explored different textures during messy play, and used their imagination and creativity to design and create their own owls. These experiences encouraged the children to develop their communication and language, creativity, fine motor skills and understanding of the natural world.

It was lovely to see the children becoming increasingly curious about owls and confidently sharing their ideas, observations and creations with others.

Last week, the children enjoyed exploring the anniversary of the first moon landing through a variety of engaging, space-themed activities.

They developed their early mathematical skills by practising counting during a range of sensory and messy play experiences in the tuff trays, encouraging exploration and hands-on learning.

The children also took part in a baking activity, where they made delicious star-shaped biscuits to take home and share with their families. This provided an excellent opportunity to develop their fine motor skills, follow simple instructions.

Last week the children enjoyed celebrating the NHS.

Throughout the nursery the children explored tuff trays, role play using dolls and teddy clinic using bandages, stethoscopes and plasters. The children pretended to be doctors and nurses building empathy, helping reduce fear of real doctor visits and had fun learning about looking after our bodies.
