We join the world in reflecting on the contributions of iconic artist David Hockney, who has died aged 88.

His legacy will continue to inspire generations of creatives here at York and far beyond.

In 2013, we had the privilege of awarding him an honorary degree at York Minster to celebrate his outstanding contributions to Yorkshire and the arts.

By communicating their research to a range of audience members, our PGRs will not develop their public engagement skills, but also help to demonstrate the contribution that research makes to wider society and the economy.
