This week is the final week of the YSJ Big Summer Read 📚

Written by alumni authors, Hex House by Amy Jane Stewart and Featherfall by Jerry Ibbotson have enthralled this year's Big Summer Readers. If you didn't get chance to read along, there's still plenty of time to enjoy reading this year's two books this summer!

This week, York St John's Critical Editions Project returns with its latest Edition. After creating the first accessible editions of Eliza Haywood's The Parrot, and Mary Robinson's Lyrical Tales, this year sees Two Men of Letters reaching new audiences.

Two Men of Letters explores the correspondence between Ignatius Sancho, one of Britain's earliest published Black writers, and Laurence Sterne, the world-famous author of Tristram Shandy.

Transcribed, edited and annotated by students with the support of staff, this year's Edition will also have a limited print run, produced at the same site in York when Tristram Shandy was first published in 1767!

Earlier this year, we released a fantastic webinar from Class of 2023 graduate, Benji. As a student, he was an active member of our Boat Club and now works as a Respiratory Specialist Physiotherapist for the NHS.
