TOMORROW we are celebrating Rare Chromosome Day in our school to raise awareness and celebrate the extraordinary children and adults that are affected by this rare condition - modelled here by our very own superstar Rosie 💖

We are asking for a £1 donation for non-uniform (blue and yellow if you can!) and there will be a cake stall at break and lunch time with all money raised going to Ryedale Special Families.

Any donations of baking for our cake stall will be greatly appreciated!

🌽🎉 Year 5 Takes Over for Festa Junina! 🎉🌽

On Tuesday, our amazing Year 5 pupils took over the school to celebrate Festa Junina, becoming the teachers for the day and sharing their knowledge of this vibrant Brazilian festival.

Children came dressed in farmer attire and enjoyed a range of activities, including food tasting, dancing, making kindness boxes, reader’s theatre, and more. At lunchtime, they sampled traditional lemonade, completed a scavenger hunt, and had their faces painted. 🍋🎨

It was a fantastic day full of learning, fun, and celebration. We are so proud of our Year 5 pupils for leading such a memorable event!

Everyone is excited for the Year 5 takeover day today!

We are celebrating the Christian Festival, Festa Junina - please ask your children about this festival which is celebrated in Brazil.

They have planned some fantastic activities for the whole school including making bunting and kindness boxes, dance, games, food and drink tasting, Readers Theatre and Around the World.

As this festival honors the agricultural harvest children have been invited to come in dressed as farmers (non-uniform)

Friends of Kirkbymoorside C.P. School have kindly paid for part of our extra field area to be cut and rotivated for us and Geen Club spent one of their after school sessions planting pumpkins and peas to start off our school allotment project!

We can't wait for October to see how the pumpkins grow 🎃

🌿🌸 A Wonderful Day at Helmsley Walled Garden! 🌸🌿

Our Year 1 children had a fantastic trip yesterday, exploring the beauty of Helmsley Walled Garden with Countryside Learning! They developed their map skills, carefully navigating their way around, and enjoyed moments of calm while building their mindfulness skills.

One of the highlights was walking the labyrinth, where the children took time to reflect, focus, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

What a brilliant day of learning, discovery, and fresh air!
