Hang Li holds a PhD in Music Education from the School of Arts and Creative Technologies at the University of York , supervised by Dr Liz Haddon . She completed her MA in Music Education (Instrumental and Vocal Teaching) at the University of York in 2016โ2017.

๐ธ A lunch break filled with music!
๐ค Recently, the Ron Cooke Hub Atrium was filled with live music as students and staff gathered for a relaxed jam session. It was incredible to see such a diverse group of musicians come together and spontaneously collaborate, transforming an ordinary Tuesday lunch break into something truly special.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us โ whether you picked up an instrument, shared your talent or simply came along to listen and soak up the atmosphere.
We are already looking forward to the next one on ๐Friday 17th April at 12pm!

๐๐ต Last month, we celebrated the release of Instrumental Music Education (Bloomsbury, November 2025) - a new book created by Dr Elizabeth Haddon with input from staff and students at the University of York.
The groundbreaking new book arose from years of research and discussions within the Music Education forum and reflects today's practices in instrumental teaching.
With a number of collaborators offering their own contributions, the book provides a collection of unique chapters offering new ideas and conversations.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved! โญ

๐๏ธ ๐น We are delighted to unveil a new industry-standard recording studio in the Ron Cooke Hub.
It has been created from scratch with acoustics in mind and has been kitted out with high-end equipment such as an SSL desk, Prism converters, ATC speakers, and a lot of classic and modern mics, synths, and hardware.
The large live room includes a top-of-the-line DW drum kit and a Yamaha Disklavier โrobot pianoโ, for both traditional and modern production workflows.
The studio is available for use by undergraduate and postgraduate Music & Sound Recording students.
