To be considered for this role you must meet the national requirements to complete an apprenticeship. All apprentices must be able to meet the demands of the Level 3 – Early Years Educator qualification which will be assessed at interview and by the apprentice training provider.
The apprenticeship is expected to last around 15 months to 2 years and will require you working for 30 hours per week. Once the apprenticeship has been successfully completed the apprentice may apply for a permanent position. It is desirable (but not essential) that all applicants hold at minimum Level 4 (or equivalent) GCSE in Maths and English.
You will be trained to undertake the same responsibilities as an Early Years Educator and will provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
· Assisting with the daily routine of a room, activities, planning, monitoring and evaluation.
· Assisting the team leader in arranging the deployment of staff in the room and be responsible for ensuring that all requirements are still met in the absence of a team leader.
· Supporting the care and education of the children in the room within a key person structure, promoting good practice and being a role model for other staff and children.
· Ensuring that the safeguarding and welfare of the children is paramount in the room at all times.
In addition, you will be confident with and have experience of providing an excellent customer service and have a genuine enthusiasm for working with children.
