Another fab event this weekend 😁

Something nice to do this Sunday with family and friends 😁

We've had another great 2 days in the woods with our schoolies. (Unfortunately we had to cancel yesterday due to the thunder and lightning)
We've made our own paints and used clay to make some woodland animals. Lisa worked with the children 1:1 to use the different tools so they could make their own whistles. We've enjoyed making bread and cooking it on the fire as well as popcorn and smores. Over the lunchtimes our children have loved watching a blue tit which has been making a nest in a bird box which our nursery children made. We have quietly watched it going in and out. We then used Lisa's app to identify which other birds we could hear in the woods too. Lots of fun and laughter....can't wait until we go again in the summer holidays 😁

Yesterday it was time to say goodbye to the chicks, Tony, Butterscotch, Oreo, Caramel, Burt, Pingu and Hopper. The eggs arrived on the 14th April and farmer Lyn gave us instructions of how to care for the eggs whilst they were in the incubator and afterwards when they had hatched.
Our children have been thrilled to countdown the 21 days until they began to hatch and then watched as the chicks chipped away at their egg shells and emerged all wet and sticky. We observed them as they dried into cute fluffy little chicks and then we transferred them into a spacious cage where they had a heater to keep warm under, food and water. They grew very quickly -
time for them to go home!

No Forest School today due to the thunder and lightning 🌩

Today our schoolies have had a great day at Forest School with Lisa and Hannah. We used gimlets and peelers to make our own snails to take home. We've had fun playing games, exploring the mud kitchen and relaxing in the hammock. We even cooked some popcorn on the fire....after a few go's we got it right and it was yummy! Last night the staff team were at Hickory's celebrating 20 years of LiveWires! A massive achievement for Jan who is so dedicated to her work and does a lot for us as a staff team too. We got her some treats to celebrate. We had a lovely evening 😊
