As the school summer holidays start and opportunities for holidays or days out in the sunshine increase, it's important to remember the importance of protecting babies and children from the sun and the effects of dehydration.
Symptoms of dehydration in babies may include dry nappies, a sunken soft spot on the front of the head (fontanel) and inconsolable crying. Constipation, dark urine, sunken eyes, lethargy and no tears when crying, are common signs in children.
The key is to recognise the danger signs early and offer fluids straight away.

Since the sun has been shining, I have been able to hang my washing on the line. My neighbours have questions 😂😂😂. (Usually the washing is hidden inside my house so….)

Just a reminder that there are scheduled road works on The Village in Haxby today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday). No one seems clear on if we will be able to access the car park at the hall today. If you want peace of mind, you might consider parking at the playpark at Ethel Ward on the York Road (See map) and then walking to the hall. The City of York says they apologise for the inconvenience.
See you all later!
