Our this year is 'The Fun Lovin' Criminal' by Huey Morgan. "When Fun Lovin' Criminals released their debut album Come Find Yourself in 1996, its fusion of hip-hop, funk, blues and rock quickly became one of the most iconic and influential records of the decade. Now, in this fascinating memoir, frontman Huey Morgan describes his remarkable journey from journeyman to rock star."

In this inspiring workshop, led by an experienced professional, you will develop the skills and techniques to learn how to beatbox and to craft your own lyrics. After practising the fundamentals, you will soon be working as a group to create a mini-performance. Develop your voice, build your confidence and work as a team!
No prior experience is necessary to join this supportive workshop.
This session is suitable for children age 8-12 years old

Please note our supervision guidelines: 8s and Under must have an adult with them at all times during the session. Ages 9–10 need an adult to stay in the library building during the session and to be on hand to support the child if needed. Ages 11+ can take part independently but will be unsupervised by library staff. Thank you for helping us keep our activities safe.

Book of the week this week is 'Helm' by Sarah Hall. Helm is a ferocious, mischievous wind - a subject of folklore and awe, who has blasted the sublime landscape of the Eden Valley since the very dawn of time. Through the stories of those who've obsessed over this phenomenon, Helm's extraordinary history is formed: the Neolithic tribe who tried to placate Helm, the Dark Age wizard priest who wanted to banish Helm, the Victorian steam engineer who attempted to capture Helm - and the farmer's daughter who loved Helm. But now Dr Selima Sutar, surrounded by infinite clouds and measuring instruments in her observation hut, fears human pollution is killing Helm.

Come down tomorrow for our Summer Craft Fair! There will be lots of stalls to browse as well as a raffle, tombola and jigsaw sale! See you then from 10am-2pm.
