The famous daffodils on the walls and on the motte of Clifford's Tower are in full bloom as we enter the second week of March, and we are glad to see our students and staff taking photos of them while they last! 🌼🌼

This past week at English in York we had not one, but two returner students finish their courses with us! πŸŽ“πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³

Saidouba and Hussam have both studied with us before and liked our school so much that they returned for more courses! We love to know their time in our school sticks with them so much that they choose to come back!

We hope they'll return for more lessons another time;

Congratulations to them both! We wish them every success in life!

It's graduation day once again here at English in York! πŸŽ“πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

Today, Turki and Omar received their certificates and are now on to pastures new! 🌍

Turki studied with us for a few months and was said by all who knew him to be a lovely student and a great friend!

Omar has been studying with us on and off for quite some time, today is not his last day forever, it is only his last day for the next few months!

We love to see former students at any time, whether for more lessons or just a quick visit!

As always, we wish all success to all of our graduates as they pass through the big green door.

Congratulations to Saoud and Fadel, who finished their courses with us today! πŸŽ“πŸŽ“πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

Fadel has been with us since March! Monday will surely feel strange without him in the building for the first time in nine months! Due to the length of his course, students from all over the world who studied with us during our busy season were fortunate enough to study alongside him. We will miss him as well!

Saoud has been with us since August! In four months, he studied with many of our teachers, all of whom had only good things to say about him and the progress he's made!

Good luck to you both!

Congratulations to Ami, winner of last week's photo challenge on the theme of sunsets in York! πŸ“ΈπŸ†πŸŒ„

Following on from last week's theme of sunrises in York and taking advantage of the low light of winter, we decided to see what sorts of photos our students could take of dusk at this time of year!

We are more than impressed with the results!

Congratulations to Afnan, winner of last week's photo challenge on the theme of sunrise in York! πŸŒ…πŸ“ΈπŸ†

She clicked this photo of a sunrise one a non-snowy morning last week, capturing the bare branches found on many trees and bushes this time of year as well as a nice sunrise!

We've just seen our first snow of the season at English in York! ❄️πŸ₯Ά

Some of our students have told us this is their first time seeing snow falling!

How about you? Does it snow very often in your home country?πŸ‘€

Congratulations to Wahhab and Salem, our two graduates this week! πŸŽ“πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Salem arrived a few months ago and quickly grew his skills, maintaining a near-perfect attendance record during his studies and obtaining the prestigious title of Student of the Month. πŸ’― On many days he was the first student in the building (according to our receptionist, who lives under his desk in the lobby).

Wahhab arrived over the summer and quickly made friends with students from all over the world! 🌍 His teachers all said he was very entertaining to have in class and very good at working with any student he was paired with during activities!

The school will be a different place without you crazy kids πŸ€ͺ... And there will be one fewer backpack left in storage each afternoon πŸŽ’

All the best to you two!! Good luck on all future endeavours from all of us at English in York!
