When a music legend beloved in groups passes away, we celebrate them by singing and dancing along to our favourites by them! Dolly Parton will be missed, but her music will live on regularly in our Tool Box sessions! 🎶🤠🩷

It's National Volunteers Week!

We wanted to take a moment to celebrate the amazing volunteers and Toolbox Buddies we've collaborated with over the past 12 months.

Our Voluntary Practitioners In Development Programme hosted multiple emerging artists across various art forms, from musicians and dancers to puppeteers and visual artists. Volunteers have gone on to secure paid work in the arts, as well as pursuing further education. Many of our Voluntary Practitioners in Development also continue working with us on a freelance basis.

Not to forget our Toolbox Buddies - the backbone of our creative programme. Buddies assist in our weekly class programme and offer new members a friendly face ahead of their first session.

Here's to our wonderful volunteers and friends!

Our Voluntary Practitioners In Development programme was funded by Arts Council England

Sensory Dance has a new home - welcome to Foxwood Community Centre!

Our Monday dance class has been relocated to this wonderful space, with plenty of room for dance and movement. The new venue is tucked away, opposite a beautiful park and backs onto a well kept sensory garden.

Here's a few snaps from our session yesterday, celebrating with a very appropriate playlist of empowering tunes.

Due to the change in venue, we now have a handful of spaces for new members! Visit the website for more information - toolboxdrama.co.uk/sensorydance

We've been exploring colours and textures with our Sensory Drama group in York and in our Selby Explorers group this week.

In York, we discovered the colourful coral reef using fans, ribbons and fabric. In Selby we created our own picnic stories using colourful scarves and Verbatim theatre techniques!
