Guppy's Enterprise Club

16/03/2026

By the 5th of April this year, the club originally known just as The Enterprise Club, will have been open for 65 years!!
It ended up being called Guppy's, I think, because I was always there when it was open (and it was a much shorter name).

We now have 17 different groups meeting regularly at the club with space for more should someone either want to find a new premises or even start up a new group.

I still continue to teach people jive dancing twice a week and also give two CD classical music concerts twice a week.

Hopefully we shall be continuing for years to come!

Dungeons and Dragons!

I've been getting a lot of enquiries recently about running D&D campaigns at the club.

We already have 1 group that meet on Tuesdays but they are full. However, if anyone wishes to start their own group, there is a small room available on either Monday or Tuesday evenings.

Alternatively, if any individuals are interested in coming but don't know enough people to form a whole group, it would be helpful if you phone me on 01904 622 879 and I will take your name and try and get together other individuals to form a new group.

As with every other hobby group, there will be no set charge for the room, but instead, admission of £4 per person would be taken on admission to each session.

Other role-play games are already catered for by York War-games Society every Thursday evening, to which newcomers are cordially invited.

Please call if you are interested!

NEAL Guppy is a force to be reckoned with. He brought the first disco to York - and is still teaching people to dance at 85!
