🌍 Class 2 Geography!🌎

Today, Class 2 have been learning all about the seven continents! We started by singing our fun continent song to help us remember their names. 🎶

We then got creative and made our very own globes, carefully adding and naming each of the seven continents. 🌍✏️

A fantastic afternoon of learning, singing and creativity! ⭐

As it was Colour Day in school today, this afternoon Class 1 and 2 had fun in our woodland session exploring colours in nature. We started by reading ‘Elmer the Colourful Elephant’ and talking about all the different colours we could see. We then went on a colour scavenger hunt searching the woodland for natural resources in different colours.

The children finished by making their own rainbow sticks with the different coloured leaves.

As the weather is getting cooler, please remember to have a coat in school every day. We’re outside whatever the weather! ⛅️ 🌧️ ☀️

Collective Worship – St Thérèse of Lisieux 🌹
This week, our Class 1and 2 children learnt about St Thérèse of Lisieux, the Little Flower, and her “Little Way” – showing God’s love through the simple things we do each day. ❤️
We reflected on how small acts of kindness can make a big difference and thought about how we can make others feel valued and loved.
🙏 We finished with a breath prayer, asking God to help us share His love in little ways.
🌹 Our challenge:
“What little thing can I do today to show God’s love?”
St Thérèse of Lisieux, pray for us. ❤️

🍰 Year 2 Spelling Focus!🍰

This week, our spelling focus has been words ending in ‘le’, and one of our focus words has been ‘trifle’.

The children weren’t quite sure what a trifle was, so today we decided to bring our learning to life! The children had the opportunity to try a trifle for themselves. 😋

There were lots of smiles and plenty of children who discovered that they really liked it! It was a fun way to explore our spelling word and make our learning a little more memorable. 📚✨

Well done, Year 2! 🌟

Class 2 enjoyed a visit to the school library this afternoon. The children enjoyed choosing a book, scanning their book out and reading with their friends. It was lovely to see such enthusiasm for reading. 📕

Just a quick reminder that it is bikeability tomorrow for the first group. The children participating should come in their own clothes, suitable for cycling, and appropriate for the weather. They will be outside for the whole day.
