Exciting news as another little hog is spotted on campus last night

This is exactly what the AHCWG is wanting to see and will continue to work towards a happy and healthy population of hogs!

We have confirmed hedgehogs 🦔🎉 in both the Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park and our special conservation area on campus🌿

🦔 We also assembled and laid out some ink print tubes for hedgehogs or wildlife to wonder through and will enable us to identify the biodiversity in the area of
🦔 These environmentally friendly prints will be checked on soon to see the outcomes!!

🦔Finished hedgehog houses and bug hotels in the conservation area!🦔
🦔Amazing work from our members today making a good start on the bronze accreditation!
🦔 We completed two hedgehog houses, one for the conservation area and one for the , two bug hotels, a litter pick and putting flyers and information sheets around campus!!
🦔Here’s the hedgehog house for the conservation area being placed in its space!

🦔🐛Bug hotels! 🐛🦔
🐞As part of our ongoing efforts for a bronze accreditation, we created two bug hotels for our conservation area!
🪲Using locally sourced materials these houses were built by our members creating amazing places for bugs to hide in.

🦔Litter picking!🦔
🦔Today for experience week we started off with litter picking our chosen conservation site!!
🦔We collected two bin bags full of litter which included bottles, wrappers and various bits of plastic.

🦔Hedgehog house placing🦔
🦔We met with the head of the grounds team, Kevin, to discuss hedgehog safety and placements for the hedgehog houses and bug hotels!
🦔Hedgehog safety was outlined and the grounds team was informed on how to handle injured hedgehogs if they do find them.
