Percy is heading off to travel the world and have his own adventures, and Nicola is excited to be starting a brand new role from September, so tomorrow will be the last StoryWorld Adventures.

Make Music Day and World Giraffe day fall on the same day next week - how could we decide which to use as our next StoryWorld Adventures theme?

Percy, the star of the show! He has an amazing knowledge of faraway lands and magical friends that always seem to take us on the most spectacular adventures!
Who knew that playing could make you so clever?!
StoryWorld Adventures incorporates a whole range of sensory play within each class. Read on to find out more!
👀Sight - a range of visual props are used in classes, which helps create those connections in the brain - as well as hearing the story, children can visualise it too!
Neutral colours can be beneficial and calming, but it’s also really important to have a range of brightly coloured stimuli to help develop early sight. Props and materials are particularly used with our youngest adventurers to help develop sight tracking 😃
👂Hearing - obviously children listen to the story itself and gain vocabulary through that, but so much more is added to develop this sense.
A range of music is used in our sessions, from classical, to pop, to traditional nursery rhymes.
🖐Touch - a range of props and textures are used within sessions to allow children to become completely immersed in the story.
🧍♀️🧍proprioception - often described as the sixth sense, it’s the body’s ability to sense movement, action and location. Movement and dance play a big role in our adventures, and they all work toward developing this skill, supporting self-regulation, coordination, posture, body awareness, the ability to attend and focus, and speech!!!

There's nothing more magical than letting children explore and enjoy experiences, and seeing the look of joy and wonder on their faces!
And catching a bubble gives that and so much more - think of the determination, and resilience it took to get to the bubble before it popped, before the other children got in the way, think of the hand-eye co-ordination it needs to track the bubble and move hands to catch it, think of the physical movements it takes to quickly dart and stretch the body up high, think of the music playing alongside at the same time, the excitement of the story that is being told and that he is being a part of - it's not just catching a bubble, there's a whole world of learning and development captured in that very second.
