¡Hola a todos! 👋 Professor Roy here. Do you have that friend who never stops talking? I do! It's my human!

In Spanish, we have a very funny idiom for that: "Hablar por los codos."

Literal Translation: "To talk through the elbows."

Meaning: "To talk a lot" or "to talk someone's ear off."

Take a look at the image to see what I mean! The next time you see someone who talks a lot, you can say, ¡Esa persona **habla por los codos**!

Tell me in the comments: "¿Conoces a alguien que 'habla por los codos'?" (Do you know someone who 'talks through their elbows'?)

¡Hasta la próxima!

¡Hola a todos! 👋 Professor Roy here. Last time we talked about direct object pronouns. Today, we're moving on to the second part: Indirect Object Pronouns!

These are small but very important words that tell us who receives the action. They answer the question "to whom?" or "for whom?".

For example, instead of saying Yo doy un regalo a mi mamá (I give a gift to my mom), you can simply say Yo **le** doy un regalo (I give a gift to her).

Look at my grammar board! You'll find all the pronouns and simple examples to help you master this step. I promise it's easier than it looks!

Tell me in the comments: "¿Puedes completar la frase con el pronombre correcto? Mi mamá _____ da un regalo a mí." (Can you complete the sentence with the correct pronoun? Mi mamá _____ da un regalo a mí.)

¡Hasta la próxima!

¡Hola a todos! 👋 Professor Roy here. Do you ever get tired of repeating the same words over and over? In Spanish, we have a trick for that!

Today we are talking about Direct Object Pronouns! They are small words that replace a noun to make your sentences flow better.

For example, instead of saying Yo como la manzana (I eat the apple), you can simply say Yo **la** como (I eat it).

Look at my grammar board! You'll find the pronouns you need to replace what or whom.

Tell me in the comments: "¿Puedes reemplazar la palabra 'café' en esta frase? Yo bebo el café." (Can you replace the word 'café' in this phrase? Yo bebo el café.)

¡Hasta la próxima!

Tos (Cough)

Fiebre (Fever)

Estornudo (Sneeze)

Tell me in the comments: "¿Qué es lo peor de estar enfermo?" (What is the worst part of being sick?)

¡Hola a todos! 👋 Professor Roy here. Have you ever had a test that was so easy you finished it in five minutes? Or a recipe that was so simple, you didn't even need a recipe book?

Well, in Spanish, we have the perfect idiom for that feeling!

Take a look at today's post to learn "Ser pan comido"!

Literal Translation: "To be eaten bread"

Meaning: "To be a piece of cake"

So next time something is super easy, you can say, "¡Es pan comido!"

Tell me in the comments: "¿Qué cosa es 'pan comido' para ti?" (What is "a piece of cake" for you?)

¡Hasta la próxima!

¡Hola a todos! 👋 Professor Roy here. Do you want to sound more polite and respectful in Spanish? Then you need to learn about formal commands!

Look at my grammar board! I've made it super simple to create commands using usted and ustedes. This is perfect for when you are speaking to people you don't know well or people in a position of authority.

The rule is very simple, and I promise it's easier than it looks!

Remember my tip: The opposite is your friend!

Tell me in the comments: ¿En qué situación usarías un mandato formal? (In what situation would you use a formal command?)

¡Hasta la próxima!

¡Hola a todos! 👋 Professor Roy here. Hoy vamos a hablar de un "false friend" muy, muy, ¡muy tramposo!

When you think of the word "carpeta" in Spanish, you might think of the thing on the floor you walk on... right? Well, be careful!

Look at the image to see the difference:

In Spanish: Carpeta is the folder you use to organize your documents or school work. 📁

In English: Carpet is the rug on the floor of your house. 🏡

Tell us in the comments: "¿Qué otros 'false friends' conoces?" (What other false friends do you know?)

¡Hasta la próxima!

Pantalla (Screen) 🖥️

Cargador (Charger) 🔌

Batería (Battery) 🔋

Altavoz (Speaker) 🔊

Now tell me: ¿Cuál es la primera palabra de tecnología en español que aprendiste?

¡Hasta la próxima!
