I spent 5 months working on a documentary on breastfeeding highlighting why UK has one of the lowest breastfeeding rate in the world. Demonstrating the benefits and impact of breastfeeding to health, work, economy and the environment. The documentary shows much more from people's lived experiences. I had MPs, parents, doctors, breastfeeding organisations contributing to this work. Working parents form a significant proportion of the labour market. Different policies – legal
and social - have an impact on working parents’ work, careers, financial situation, family relationship, wellbeing, etc. This conference provides a unique opportunity for experts from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to share research and discussion on parental support.

Contributions are invited from various all areas with an impact on parental support such as
employment law; family law; sociology; psychology; human resource management; healthand social care; gender studies; social justice; work, culture, and organisation; women, employment, and society; diversity, equality, and intersectionality.

Call for Abstracts
We invite you to submit your research abstracts to The International Conference on Policies and Parental Support, taking place at York St John University Campus, York, UK, from 8th – 9th August 2022. The conference is organised by York Business School in collaboration with the Institute for Social Justice. The conference provides an international platform for academics, practitioners, consultants, scholars, researchers and policymakers with diverse background and experiences to present their papers, engage in expert discussions, get feedback and network with people from different countries.
Working parents form a significant proportion of the labour market. Different policies – legal and social - have an impact on working parents’ work, careers, financial situation, family relationship, wellbeing, etc. This conference provides a unique opportunity for experts from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to share research and discussion on parental support. Contributions are invited from various all areas with an impact on parental support such as employment law; family law; sociology; psychology; human resource management; health and social care; gender studies; social justice; work, culture, and organisation; women, employment, and society; diversity, equality, and intersectionality.
Research students are encouraged to present their research proposal, literature review or research findings. Organisations with good parental support or family friendly rights are encouraged to attend to share best practices. Abstracts will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, research depth, accuracy and relevance to the conference themes and topics. Poster presentations are welcomed.
Contributions are invited but not limited to the following broad themes:
• Social policies and their impact on parents and families
• Legal policies and their impact on parents and families
• Policies and their implications on social justice
• The impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on parents and families
• The impact of Brexit on policies and support parents and families

All accepted abstracts will be published in e-format on the conference website with the conference programme. There is flexibility for speakers to present virtually for those who are unable to attend in person. Conference dinner and networking event is scheduled to take place in the evening of day 1 of the conference.
Deadline for Abstract Submission: 5th of April 2022
Notification of Acceptance: Acceptance is on a rolling basis but with a deadline: 26th April 2022
Length of Abstract: 500 words
