My passion for Makaton is not evident due to working full time teaching, running a separate business and family commitments. I want to try doing regular videos to assist people in being more familiar with Makaton and using it more widely. Will any of my followers want me to do this and, if so, what signs would you like to know?

A wonderful visit to Martin House Children's Hospice today to tour the new wing and advise on signs and symbols. This place is so special and has walking angels providing support, love, care and cakes. Honoured to have been invited. Very much looking forward to working with the amazing staff. 😍

Hoping I made an impact on my cohort for today. Level 1 Makaton delivered to a select group. It continues to be my passion despite circumstances that prevent me teaching (staffing issues, lack of time, lack of understanding about how much Makaton can help across so many areas of learning and development). I am at the point of giving up offering training as there always seems to be something so much more important for staff to learn. But......communication is the key to everything in life. I will continue to hope and wish that others will embrace this very important skill, especially in our increasingly diverse and inclusive society.

Would you like to learn Makaton? I am providing an online Level 1 Workshop. The Level 1 Workshop is the starting point for your Makaton journey. It is recommended for people who need to use Makaton at home and in their work, to develop the communication skills of others. You will receive a Participant's Manual, which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop.
You will also be given a certificate of attendance.

Had an amazing time at Our City event signing Makaton. Did get a little dumbfounded by the Mayor saying Civic Duty so just signed "help". Introduced lots of acts from around the world and interpreted the quiz, interviewing the town cryer and presenting prizes. It was very odd signing without speech though!

Very pleased and quite excited to have been asked to be the Makaton signer at this event on Saturday.
It's a free event for all.
Sounds like lots of very interesting events happening throughout the day.
