I spent a wonderful morning all in French with Florian Poirot, maître pâtissier in Malton. Look him up when you visit lovely Malton. I had the privilege of spending the whole morning with him, 1 to 1, in his kitchen. Under his supervision, I made these gorgeous raspberry and passion fruit macarons, macaron cakes and chouquettes which are light buttery choux pastries and delicious. A huge merci to Florian. It was a wonderful morning and a super birthday present from Chris. Ann x❤️

Look at some of the fabulous Tartes normandes that we made Tuesday and Wednesday in Simply French Yorkshire Cuisine sessions! I am so proud of you all! A Tarte normande is a tart filled with apples flambées in Calvados or cognac and topped with a creamy mixture of, more Calvados, eggs, sugar, cream and butter. All fabulous products from la Normandie. It is an absolute delight. Very moreish, rich and delicious. We also did the sessions in French and learned a lot! More dishes and photos to follow. Simply French Yorkshire Cusisine sessions are starting again on 10th and 11th August morning or afternoon. Come along and join me from your own kitchen and learn French while you bake! I'll be doing two really delicious yummy tarts - Tarte Normande, a boozy creamy apple tart with apples flambées in calvados or a yummy goat's cheese and tomato tart which is melt in the mouth with a filling like a soufflé. You will find both pastries so good too. A sweet pastry and a savoury pastry and they are so easy I guarantee. Not only I guarantee you will have fun, you will also leave speaking French whatever your level! Come along and join me. There are a few places left. You won't regret it. £40 for the whole 3 hour session.
