School in a Bag is a simple solution created to help poor, orphan, vulnerable and disaster-affected children throughout the world.

School in a Bag is a charity that delivers rucksacks filled with stationery, learning resources, eating utensils and a hygiene kit to disadvantaged, disaster-affected and displaced children globally. Each SchoolBag is filled with stationery equipment and resources that will enable a child to write, draw, colour, calculate, express themselves and above all, learn.

❤️🎒 Nepal Flash Flood Appeal ❤️🎒

We've recently launched our Nepal Flash Flood Appeal fundraising for 3,000 SchoolBags to support children impacted by the Flash Flooding in Rasuwa, Nepal in August 2026. Thank you to everyone who has made a donation so far. ❤️

HELP has identified a three-track immediate, short-term and long-term response with School in a Bag committed to supporting the short-term effort. 🎒

Short-Term Education Recovery:

SchoolBags and vital education resources for 3,000 students across Rasuwa and Nuwakot, including a year's supply of teaching resources for their teachers. For a child returning to school after losing their home, school and posessions, arriving with a full SchoolBag is not a small thing — dignity matters enormously at moments when everything else has been stripped away. ✏️

❤️🎒 Nepal Flash Flood Appeal ❤️🎒

We've launched our Nepal Flash Flood Appeal fundraising for 3,000 SchoolBags to support children impacted by the Flash Flooding in Rasuwa, Nepal in August 2026.

School in a Bag have been working in Nepal since 2012 in association with our brilliant partners Helambu Education and Livelihood Partnership (HELP), lead by Jimmy Lama. To date, through HELP, School in a Bag have distributed 26,459 SchoolBags to children in 297 schools across 29 districts with over 1,300 of these in the flash flood affected Rasuwa district.

Jimmy and his team have visited Rasuwa to see the impact first hand and assess where we can collectively address the need beyond the emergency response phase. Such evidence and contact with the correct authority and relief organisations in the field are vital to ensure that duplication in aid is minimised.

Nepal-Tibet Flash Flood ❤️🎒

As more imagery & footage emerges from the devastating & ferocious glacial flash flood in Nepal, our thoughts go out to the families and relief workers impacted by this disaster. ❤️

The Rasuwa District, north of Kathmandu that borders Nepal & Tibet is a district where we have delivered over 1300 SchoolBags in association with our partners Helambu Education Livelihood Partnership (HELP), lead by Jimmy Lama.

We have been, & continue to speak with Jimmy with regularity to get updates from Nepal & this weekend Jimmy will travel in to the fringes of Rasuwa to conduct reconnaissance of the area & gain evidence from the survivors, many of whom will have lost everything they own.

The magnitude of this flash flood has crippled so much of the infrastructure that feeds the communities along the river, including schools. Whilst the immediate emergency relief efforts are for shelter, water & food, the need to support education in the recovery phase in the coming weeks will be very important.

On Tuesday September 1st, following Jimmy’s visit and in association with HELP, we will launch an appeal to help provide SchoolBags & educational resources for the people of Rasuwa so severely impacted by this catastrophic disaster. 🎒

We’re absolutely thrilled to share this wonderful video celebrating the delivery of SchoolBags to children in Ghana and India! 🎒🌍

Thanks to funding from the Market Axess Charitable Foundation, hundreds of students have received essential educational supplies to support their learning journeys.

In Ghana, 304 School in a Bag packs were distributed through the Trashy Bags Africa initiative, which transforms discarded plastic waste into useful, sustainable products. A further 304 packs were delivered to children in Andhra Pradesh, India.

A huge thank you to Trashy Bags Africa and the MarketAxess Charitable Foundation for making this possible and helping us give children the tools they need to learn, grow and thrive. ❤️🎒✨
