YDH Academy The Yeovil Academy is a multi-professional training centre providing education to staff at Yeovil Hospital and health professionals in the wider community.

Yeovil Academy is a multi-professional centre providing education to all staff and professional groups. The Academy contains a full range of modern presentation facilities, a clinical skills laboratory, IT and library resources and an induction loop system which is available for those with hearing difficulties. Many courses are available, including First Aid, Clinical Skills, Advanced Life Support

, Manual Handling, NVQs, Principles of Leadership, Enhanced Recovery and more. The academy is the hospital’s in-house education and training facility incorporating all of the functions of teaching for staff and students. We also offer a selection of training courses and events to external organisations and individuals. The Academy maintains strong links with several higher education institutions and we aim to provide an environment that encourages and supports both practical learning and formal education. The Academy promotes equal access to learning and is committed to delivering equality of opportunity for all individuals and service users.

Students will have the opportunity to explore careers that they are interested in with talks from Somerset businesses,
consider their own skills and complete challenges relating to the world of work - all from home!

LGBT History Month - Week 2: The E&D display has been updated and includes some interesting Somerset LGBT population data. Also new: an LGBT Awareness drop-in evening for staff, taking place on Friday 23 February, 5-7pm.
