Hazlegrove Preparatory School

Hazlegrove Preparatory School Hazlegrove is a co-educational school for children aged 2 - 7 in Pre-Prep & children aged 7 - 13 in the Prep School, at which point they can begin boarding.

Set in 200 acres of parkland with easy access to the main A303 trunk road, Hazlegrove provides innovative and inspirational education to its pupils. Making the most of its independent status to provide a curriculum to challenge and excite, the school is a splash of colour in an increasingly grey and conforming world. Hazlegrove delights in children being children, it encourages individuality and i

t values determination and perseverence as well old-fashioned qualities such as compassion and kindness. Traditional entry points are Nursery, Reception, aged 7 or 8 and aged 11 but children are welcome to join all year groups and part way through a year or term if necessary, providing space is available. Where do the Year 8 pupils move on to? - the answer is a wide selection of schools including nationally known schools such as Bryanston, Cheltenham Ladies, Eton, Marlborough, Millfield, Sherborne, Sherborne Girls, St Mary's Calne and Wi******er. A good proportion of pupils looking for continuity in the local area will progress to the affiliated King's Bruton. Visitors are always welcome by appointment or at one of the many Open Mornings http://www.hazlegrove.co.uk/admissions/visiting-the-school/open-mornings

Academics at Hazlegrove 📖 From code-breaking in Maths to postcard-buying in French, our pupils have wasted no time getting stuck into their lessons this year. Academic rigour and ambition are at the heart of a Hazlegrove education, brought to life through engaging, hands-on lessons that challenge children to think for themselves, ask questions and develop a genuine love of learning. We’ve loved seeing all the learning and lightbulb moments taking place!

Small town, big ideas! Hazlegrove and King’s Bruton are delighted to be educational partners of Big Brue – an exciting new festival of ideas, music, food and culture coming to Bruton this September. Taking place at Hauser & Wirth Somerset on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September, will bring some of the most interesting voices from the worlds of culture, current affairs, the arts, literature and the environment to our small corner of Somerset. With a lineup including Bob Geldof, Prue Leith and Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, it brings a dynamic exploration of ideas to a town already renowned for creativity and culture.

We’re particularly excited that pupils from both Hazlegrove and King’s will be part of the event, with former pupils returning to Bruton to perform, and opportunities to take part in workshops and live performances across the weekend. We’re incredibly proud to be playing a part in what promises to be a brilliant new addition to Bruton’s cultural calendar!

➡️ Book your tickets now at www.bigbrue.com, using the code SCHOOL for an exclusive 10% discount for Hazlegrove and King’s families.
