Hello, today despite the weather our BBQ went ahead. Peter & Marc under canvas outside coooked up a storm of sausages, beefburgers, chicken drumsticks, whilst Wendy provided all the compliments coleslaw, potatoe salad, mixed salads, quiches, wedges, fruit salads, and cake.
All enjoyed. We had Neil come in to play Saxophone to end an enjoyable afternoon.
Thank you to all the family and friends who were able to come.
Raffle raised £110 Thank you to all who supported and contributed.

Hello Family Friends so now this weeks highlights.
Teitiana was so pleased when I asked if she would like to talk about her Homeland Ukraine.
Teitiana and Son a lovely young man came in and talked about the traditions and culture of Ukraine and showed visuals of outstanding beauty all over Ukraine. They made an Ukraine 'Honey' cake enjoyed by all, wore traditional dress, showed dolls made purely of cloths literally no sewing involved, and pictures of Ukraine flower emblems.
It was so touching, inspiring, despite missing their homeland their families due to current situation, both spoke about their culture and traditions with so much love for their country.
It was an absolute joy for all. An engaging afternoon and we all learnt alot more.

Hello Family/Friends.
I took a wee weeks summer break so here's the previous weeks highlighted activities.
Despite original ice cream van not showing, our Richard managed to arrange Eddie's Ice Cream Parlour Leg O' Mutton last minute to step in, saved the day. Thank you Eddie.
The Yelverton Ladies crafters came in crafting and chatting to our Residents, and Bethany came in and sang current recent songs to our residents.
Thank you also to Hazel's family who kindly gave bottles of Prosecco to welcome in her newly born great granddaughter for all to celebrate.

With permission from family. This was one in a million moment in time I had the privilege able to make an afternoon extra special for these two wonderful ladies.
Our Iris who is 103, just by chance her friend from years gone by Doreen, also 103, arranged visit to the home to meet up with Iris for the first time since ages ago. Both 103 both awesome ladies. What a joy to see them reminiscing over photographs, chatting, enjoying each other's company. An absolute privilege to have played a small part in seeing them together. Only the best tea china set for these 103 years young ladies for their afternoon tea. Wonderful.

We are always up to something at The Yelverton with varied activities. From gentle exercise, singing, playing ball games, memory games, card games, word search, weird history, and many more, plus many conversations covering many topics past and present.
Also regular daily visits to those who are not comfortable or able to be in group activities in the afternoon.
So here are highlights of last few days or so on whats been going on. Not all residents wished to be in photographs.
