Little movers 🕺💃

Last week, our children took part in Little Movers Charity Week in support of Red Balloons.

Red Balloons is a fantastic local charity that supports people with their mental health. Their work helps reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing and provides vital support to people across our local community.

A big well done to all the children who took part, and a big thank you to everyone who donated funds for the children’s participation; your support is helping us make a real difference, one dance move at a time❤️

Ice cream time!❄️🍦

Last week, the children enjoyed a wonderful 'Feel-Good Friday' treat in the sunshine! We set up our very own ice cream stall, where everyone could choose their favourite sauces and toppings and it is safe to say it was a huge hit!

The ice cream station was a well-deserved reward for how beautifully the children managed in the heat all week. 💛

🐝🍯 World Bee Day 🍯🐝

Last week we celebrated World Bee Day by tasting different types of honey with bread and fruits. Our children loved exploring new tastes, smells, and textures while developing their communication, social, and fine motor skills.

🐝 Fun Fact: Honey never spoils - Archaeologists have even discovered pots of honey in ancient Egyptian tombs that were still safe to eat!

Most importantly, the children learned how important bees are for our environment and the foods we eat every day. 🌼🐝

A lovely day full of learning, curiosity, and sticky smiles! 💛

🌱 Luna Loves Gardening 🪴

Our children enjoyed a wonderful gardening experience as they explored a sensory tuff tray filled with soil, seeds, and gardening tools. Our little ones loved scooping, digging, and planting their own seeds into pots, while also enjoying the story Luna Loves Gardening, which inspired lots of conversations about caring for plants and watching things grow. 🌼

This hands-on activity supported our children’s fine motor development, communication skills, and understanding of the natural world. It also encouraged curiosity, teamwork, and patience as the children discovered how a tiny seed can grow into something amazing. We can’t wait to see what starts to sprout! 🌱

Junk Modelling 🌿♻️

Our children had a fantastic time during forest school, getting creative with junk modelling using recycled materials. They explored, designed, and built their own unique creations, using their imagination to turn everyday items into something new and exciting.

This activity encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, while also helping children understand the importance of reusing and recycling. It was a wonderful way to combine forest school with imaginative play and environmental awareness. 🌱✨

🌱 Forest School: Growing Our Own Food 🌱

Today at Forest School, our children took their first exciting steps into the world of growing their own food. We explored how plants begin their journey and discussed where our food comes from. Our children carefully planted climbing beans in compost, placing them inside ziplock bags to create mini greenhouses, which we hung by the window ready to watch them grow.

Through this activity, our children developed an understanding of plant life cycles and where food originates. They built confidence in following simple instructions, practised fine motor skills while planting, and nurtured a sense of curiosity, responsibility, and care for the natural world. 🌿

🌿 Forest School: Bugs, Spring & Growing 🌱🐞

Last week, our children explored the story Bug Hotel and created their own cosy bug home using natural materials. We also read Hello Spring and spotted signs of the new season, before planting climbing beans in mini greenhouses to watch them grow! 🌼🌿

These activities helped the children learn about caring for nature, working together, and understanding how plants and insects are part of our environment. 🌱
