I am an OFSTED registered Childminder, graded "Good" on the new standards and my 1st inspection. I am 42 years old and live in Eaglescliffe with my little boy Luca who is 13 and my little girl Gabriella who is 9. Our home is a friendly, loving, secure, family setting and all children that come here are treated as part of our family. Its a home from home environment with the positive approach that
all children come here to play and have fun. I find this takes the anxiety away from both parents and children and becomes an exciting time to look forward too and gives parents peace of mind their little darlings are happy. I am fully registered for day contracts and I also specialise in Anti-social hours and Overnight Care and currently provide before and after care for school children based at Egglescliffe Primary Shool. We have a cat who is very friendly, fluffy, playful and brilliant with children, she is mainly outside but does like to come in for cuddles and we have a golden retriever and a Cockapoo they adore all children are very gentle and just love to be stroked they are cuddly teddy bears loves to lay watching children play and with full risk assessments in place sometimes accompanies us on outings, own crate for down time and own area in garden for hygiene purposes. I do not smoke. I am fully OFSTED registered including for overnight care. On my 1st inspection from OFSTED and on the new standards I received a GOOD GRADE. I hold a full clean driving licence and have my own 8 Seater transport. I am part of The National Childminding Association, Pacey insured, level II Diploma in childcare, Paediatric First Aid Trained, hold Safeguarding Children Certificates and have received a 5 out of 5 stars from The Food Standards Agency. I do regular development updates on each child in line with EYFS as well as a daily diary summarising how your child has eaten/drank/slept in keeping with their routines and activities they have done so you feel you know how your child's emotional day, where they have been and can chat about their experiences. I actively encourage parents to regularly feedback about home life, activities done together, what your little ones have enjoyed doing or milestones reached, to aid me in my planning, next steps and also so i can talk to the children about what they did and in group talks encouraging their speech, language, communication and listening skills while developing their personal and social development. We have a playroom with lots of lovely toys, free play and educational play supporting all areas of development from numeracy, alphabet. mathematics with counting games and toys to colours and shapes sorters, to understanding the world with effective real world resources, encouraging personal and social and communication and language development, music, train set, post box, wooden kitchen, dolls, cars, wooden tool bench, wooden farm, airport, car park and fire station, as well as a large variety of games and jigsaws, fine motor skills physical development, threading lacing resources and a sofa to relax and read books on or have a rest if wanted. We have a dedicated sleeping room catering for every age group with a double bed, a cot/junior bed and I also have another cot in a separate room i actively promote routines and establish where not already in place and all younger children will have a nap per day in their own cot/bed. We have a quiet lounge for relaxing, homework and school reading books and learning spellings, reading and jigsaws and the kitchen is where we do all our arts and craft activities, cooking, messy play, painting, gluing, sticking, drawing, play doh. We spend a lot of time doing activities outdoors as children love to be able to have their freedom in a safe environment for example walking/play park/feeding ducks/trips to the moors/beach/farms/museums/woods/reservoirs, biking, teddy bears picnics, nature trails, butterfly world and indoor play visiting various groups for example at class, library story time, toddler sessions, music classes, soft play, church groups and meeting with other children for play dates. Children learn social skills, knowledge of the world and develop physically, emotionally and intellectually from going to different places, how to treat people and how to behave and keep safe i.e. walking nicely near busy roads, from being in different social situations and interacting with all ages/genders/cultures. They thrive from fun learning and will have a lot of input into daily planning mainly being child led. We have quiet time for reading, craft activities, cooking and have registered rooms for naps, as well as being fully registered for overnight care. Our daily routines will vary we are always busy having fun, however i will always try to keep as close as possible to any routines you have established with your child i.e. feeding/naps/bottles and all younger children will have a sleep per day, my routines are worked so your child will benefit from having a lovely sleep in a comfortable cot thus benefiting them being happy and not over tired when collected so you can enjoy some time together before bed. I offer a range of food choices I am able to cater for specific requirements and will always encourage children to try different things and provide a healthy menu. Mainly all the children who attend my setting are cared for, played with, listened too, encouraged, nurtured and treated the same as i treat my own little darlings, your child's happiness is my priority. Please contact me if you would like too to discuss your child/ren and my availability if you feel your child will benefit from being in a family home like ours.
