🍅🥒 Exciting news from our greenhouse! 🌱

We’ve got lots of lovely tomatoes and cucumbers growing in the greenhouse, and we’ve been having so much fun exploring all the different colours, shapes and textures. 🌈✨

We’ve also been enjoying tasting them at mealtimes and chatting about how they look, feel and taste. It’s wonderful to see everyone getting excited about where our food comes from and enjoying the fruits (and vegetables!) of our hard work! 🥗💚

🌊🐠 Under the Sea Cornflake Cakes! 🐚🧁

on Friday we were busy getting creative in the kitchen and making our very own Under the Sea themed cornflake cakes! 🌊💙

We had lots of fun measuring and mixing our ingredients, talking about the different colours we could see and choosing which sea creatures we wanted to decorate our cakes with. 🐙🐠🦀🐳

Everyone had the chance to make their own choices and get creative with their decorations. It was lovely to see the different ideas and designs come to life! 🎨✨

And, of course, the best part was enjoying our delicious creations afterwards! 😋💙

🌊🐠 Under the Sea Sensory Fun! 🐠🌊

This week we’ve been having lots of fun exploring our Under the Sea sensory trays! 🐚🦀🐙

Our little explorers enjoyed getting stuck in with our under the sea spaghetti sensory tray, squishing, pulling and discovering all the different sea creatures hiding amongst the colourful spaghetti. 🌈🐟

We also explored our under the sea rice sensory tray, using our hands and tools to scoop, pour and search for hidden treasures beneath the rice! 🐚🪸

Sensory play is a fantastic way for children to explore different textures, colours and materials, while developing their fine motor skills, imagination and curiosity. 💙

There were lots of smiles, giggles and wonderful opportunities for learning through play! 🥰🌊

🌊🐠 Our New Topic: Under the Sea! 🐚🦀

We’re so excited to dive into our new topic “Under the Sea!” 🌊🐳

The children have been busy helping us create our very own Under the Sea Exploration Station, filled with lots of exciting things to discover. From colourful sea creatures and shells to sensory treasures, there has been so much to look at, explore and talk about! 🐙🐚🐟

The children have had lots of fun exploring the station and talking about their favourite sea creatures. 🐬🦈🐢 We’ve loved hearing which creatures they like best and listening to all their wonderful ideas about what life might be like under the sea.

There are so many exciting things for us to discover, and we can’t wait to see where our Under the Sea adventures take us! 💙🌊✨

🦖🚌 What an exciting Wednesday we had! 🚌🦖

On Wednesday, we had a fantastic adventure! We travelled by the Dino Bus to the Dinosaur Park where we discovered lots of different dinosaurs. 🦕🦖 We had so much fun exploring and even had time to enjoy the slides! 🛝

In the afternoon, we hopped back on the bus and headed to Picton Park. 🚍🌳 While we were there, we spotted lots of trains 🚂 and had a wonderful time playing on all the different park equipment.

What a busy day full of dinosaurs, trains, exploring and lots of fun! 💚🦖🚂

🌻 A Sunny Day at Margot’s Sunflower Field! 🌻

On Monday we had a wonderful time visiting Margot’s Sunflower Field! 💛 The children loved exploring the beautiful field and looking at all the different shapes, sizes and colours of the sunflowers. 🌻

The children were very excited to pick their own sunflower to bring back to nursery and were so proud of their beautiful flowers! 🌻😊 Even better, the purchase of our sunflowers was all for a wonderful cause — Zoe’s Place 💛, making our visit even more special.

When we returned to nursery, we used our sunflowers as inspiration for some observational paintings 🎨. The children carefully studied their flowers, noticing the petals, colours, stems and centres, before creating their own beautiful sunflower masterpieces.

A lovely day filled with sunshine, exploring, creativity and supporting a fantastic cause! ☀️🌻💛

🧸🦖 A Teddy Bears’ Picnic Adventure! 🦖🧸

What an exciting day we had at nursery last Friday! 🌟 We hopped aboard the Dino Bus 🚌🦖 and travelled to Picton Park for a very special Teddy Bears’ Picnic! 🧺🐻

The children were so excited to explore the park and had lots of fun playing on all the different equipment. There were plenty of adventures to be had, from climbing and balancing to running around and enjoying the great outdoors! 🌳🤸‍♀️

We also had a fantastic time spotting the trains 🚂 and tractors 🚜, which was a real highlight for our little explorers.

Of course, no teddy bears’ picnic would be complete without our cuddly friends joining us for some delicious picnic treats! 🧸🍓🧁

It was a day full of laughter, fun, exploring and wonderful memories. ❤️

We’re just not sure who had more fun… the children or the staff! 😄🚌🐻

🐠🌊 Something Exciting Is Coming... 🌊🐙

We have a brand new topic swimming its way into nursery very soon! We can't tell you exactly what it is just yet, but we can give you a few clues... 👀

🫧 You might find it beneath the waves...
⭐ It could have fins, shells, or even tentacles...
🐚 There may be sandy beaches, sparkling seas, and lots of amazing sea creatures to discover!
🐟 We might even go on an underwater adventure without leaving the nursery!

🌱🍓 Our Nursery Garden 🍅🌼

Our nursery garden is looking wonderful, and the children have loved watching it grow a little more each day. Our vegetable patch is flourishing, and our colourful flowers are blooming beautifully, creating a lovely space for everyone to enjoy.

The children have been taking great care of our garden by helping to water the plants, checking on their growth, and talking about what they can see. They especially enjoy looking closely to see if any strawberries have turned bright red and are ready to pick, or if our tomatoes are beginning to ripen.

Caring for our garden helps the children learn about nature, where food comes from, and the importance of looking after living things. It also encourages curiosity, patience, and responsibility as they observe the changes happening over time.

We can't wait to see what will be ready to harvest next! 🌿🌞🍓

Last week we had lots of fun making our very own Rice Crispy Cakes! 🍫🥣

The children enjoyed measuring the Rice Krispies and helping to mix them with the melted chocolate. They took turns stirring carefully, watching as the cereal became coated in the chocolate before spooning the mixture into cake cases.

This activity supported early maths skills through measuring and counting, while also developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and turn-taking. Most importantly, everyone had a wonderful time working together and creating a delicious treat to enjoy!
