Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali’s Sharh ‘Illal al-Tirmidhi

Hafiz ibn Rajab al Hanbali’s master work explaining the ‘ilal of the great Muhammad Ibn ‘Isa al Tirmidhi, one of the canonical collection of Hadith of the prophet ﷺ. An indispensable work which focuses on hidden defects in Hadith and a book which no serious student of Hadith can be without. In this course, Shaykh Yusuf will explain the book in detail and add further benefits from his extensive experience with Hadith students and ‘illal.

Due to the nature of the course, students are required to have completed Muqaddimah fi al-‘Illal first.

‘Abd al-Rahman al-Ba’li’s Al-Dhukhru al-Harir in usul al-Fiqh

This course focuses on a thorough study of the Hanbali Usul al-Fiqh, in the English language. The lessons are based on one of its mu’tamad book: Al-Dhukhru al-Harir bi-Sharh Mukhtasar al-Tahrir, by the eminent Hanbali scholar Ahmad al-Ba’li al-Hanbali.

Due to its approach and organization this book is near perfect for usage in a teaching setting, which will aid in developing a thorough understanding and framework in the Usul al-Fiqh of the Hanabilah, and suffices the dedicated student as a first stepping stone into this noble science.

- All the classes are mainly in English,
- A working knowledge of Arabic* is required,
- Upon completion the courses one is eligible for ijazah in the book.

* Working knowledge of Arabic means being able to understand grammaticale structures, concept, rules, etc. Speaking it is not required.
