Hi, my name is Becki and I am a primary school teacher. I qualified as a teacher in 2013 and since then have worked in three school settings, teaching children from Reception through to Year 6. I now teach 4 days in a school and spend my 5th day at home, looking after my two little girls. I am friendly, approachable and patient and I love helping children to achieve their full potential by building their confidence and helping them to enjoy learning.
I have been a primary school teacher for 11 years, working in Solihull and Warwick schools, and I have worked across both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two during this time. Following the pandemic, I led intervention groups, working to close gaps with small groups of children in phonics, writing and maths in KS1 and I have experience of working in both SATs years. This academic year, I am teaching a mixed Year 4/5 class whilst offering some tutoring sessions across the primary ages.
My approach to tutoring involves being adaptable to your child's needs and learning from their classroom. I aim to build confidence by teaching concepts that are tricky with resources, good modelling and practising examples together before completing tasks independently. I keep a record of all independent work to help me plan my next sessions and I make observations throughout each session to make decisions about how and when to adapt the activities. I ask pupils questions about their learning in the classroom to mirror strategies where possible, and to identify where children feel they are struggling so that these can be the areas to focus on.
I have availability on a Wednesday afternoon and a Saturday morning. Please contact for more details.
