The evenings are pulling in a little earlier, which can only mean one thing here at the studio.

Our Autumn art classes for children aged 5 to 16 are filling up. There are still a few spaces left across art club, drawing class and our explore art space sessions, and they're going quietly one by one.

Whatever your child is like, they're welcome. The one who has planned their masterpiece before they've hung their coat up, the one who needs a minute to settle in, the one who just wants to get their hands messy. All resources are included, so all they need to bring is themselves.

It's less like a class and more like a little pocket of the week that's just theirs, with a qualified, DBS and first aid trained team to guide them.

If you'd like one of the last spots, have a look at www.start-studio.co.uk, or drop us a message and we'll help you find the right class here in Wymondham.

Someone asked me last week, "Do I need to book a class, or can I just come in and make something?"

Both are real options here, and they're genuinely different sessions.

The Art CafΓ© is your independent session. You pick from the art menu, set your own pace, and no one is guiding you step by step. It's lovely if you already know what you'd like to make, or if you just want to sit with something creative and see where your hands take you. Come and go as you please.

A taught class is guided from start to finish. Sarah or one of the tutors walks you through the technique, catches the little moments where you'd usually get stuck, and helps you actually finish something you're proud of.

So, which one's for you?

Art CafΓ© if you want freedom and flexibility.
Taught class if you want to learn a real skill, or just need a bit of direction to get going.

Same studio, same welcome, whichever you choose. Drop by or text the studio on 07985405703 and we'll help you pick.

Hope to see you here soon! 🎨

Everyone meets clay for the first time in their own way. Which one are you?

There's the cautious taster. Watched a stack of YouTube videos beforehand, ties the apron extra tight, says "I just want to see if I like it"... and then absolutely falls for it. That little lopsided pot? Instant pride.

There's the kid who just gets it. Hands on the wheel, focus at 100%, asking "can I make a dragon?" before you've even finished explaining. School bag by the door, clay everywhere, and a wonky bowl that mum is genuinely, properly impressed by.

And there's the social sculptor. Came for the chat, stayed for the clay. Hands filthy, mood immaculate, already asking when the next one is and who to bring along.

Whether it's a Pottery Wheel Taster, a Children's Pottery Wheel Class, or a Clay Night, you're welcome exactly as you are. No experience needed, just come and get your hands messy with us in Wymondham. 🎨

Book your spot at www.start-studio.co.uk (link in bio).

So which type are you? We think we already know. Tell us in the comments!

Before there was a studio on the high street, there was a car boot full of art supplies and a list of venues across Norfolk.

That's how stART began. I'd load up the car and drive our classes out to pubs, community halls and schools, bringing the paint and clay to wherever people already were. Our sip and paint nights started in local pubs back in 2018, and the children's classes have been popular from the very start.

There was no permanent space yet, just a restlessness to make art accessible to everyone, wherever they happened to be.

That same feeling is still here in our Wymondham studio today. It's the reason we've never charged for a class you couldn't attend, and it's why the doors are open to first-timers and seasoned makers alike.

Wymondham gave us our home, but Norfolk's roads gave us our start.

Local to Wymondham, come and spend a slow morning with us at the studio.

Our Pottery & Art Cafe is a spot to sit down, wrap your hands around a warm or cold drink and make something at your own pace. Choose pottery painting, have a go at sculpting, or lose yourself in a canvas. There's no rush and no outcome unless you want one. Just you, a table, and the lovely quiet that comes when your hands take over.

Order a speciality coffee or hot chocolate from Β£2.50, or enjoy a complimentary drink while you create. From Β£10 with no added studio fee.

Drop in or book a table. We're open every Saturday and Wednesday 9:30am–3:30pm and Friday 1:30pm–5pm, right in the heart of Wymondham at 16 Market Place.

Come alone, bring a friend, or make a morning or afternoon of it with the family. Hope to see you at the studio 🎨

If you haven't held a paintbrush since Year 8 art class, you're not alone.

So many people who walk through our doors in Wymondham tell us they stopped years ago, somewhere along the way believing they just aren't "creative people."

Our adult classes are a world away from those old school memories. No grades. No one comparing your canvas to the next. No rushing you through a technique before you're ready.

Our tutors know when to lend a hand with the clay or acrylic ink, and when to step back and let you enjoy the quiet flow of the room. Make a joyful mess, ask for help as much as you like, and unwind after a busy day 🎨

Swipe through to see why the studio is on your side. You never actually lost your creativity.

She walked in saying she'd probably be terrible at it. Two hours later, she didn't want to leave.

That look is the bit we love most. Not the finished pot, but the quiet disbelieving smile when someone glances at their clay-covered hands and realises they're actually doing it 🌿

You don't need to have touched clay before. You don't need to feel ready. Our beginner wheel sessions are made for exactly this: a bit nervous, hands properly messy, and surprising yourself somewhere between the first wobble and the last centring.

We'll guide you through as much or as little as you'd like. Everyone goes home with something they made themselves.

If you've been quietly curious about the wheel, this is your nudge. Link in bio to book, or drop us a message with any questions.
