Our upcoming Workshops and Social Events for adults this October! All running alongside our regular classes in watercolour, acrylic and pottery.

Before she ever stood at the front of a class, Sarah was the one at the easel.

She studied Fine Art at LUSAD, then moved to Lincoln to train as a teacher, and over the years she built our little art school here in Wymondham. It is hers, not a franchise or a chain.

That matters, we think, because Sarah has sat on both sides of the table. She has been the maker trying something new, and the teacher helping it happen. So what she has built is a studio where people who make things can find each other, whether it is your first brush or you already paint at home.

The pet portrait in this photo is the kind of work Sarah enjoys painting the most. Fun, characterful, impressionist style portraits of animals.

We have all kinds of art classes available to book so you to can enjoy painting or drawing.

These beauties were painted at a lovely hen do we hosted recently.

A little shout out to Millie today. Congratulations on your Wedding day! Wishing you both an amazing day of love and excitement for the future ###

What a relaxing way to spend the weekend. The Norfolk Mead hotel was absolutely stunning. Set in tranquil grounds, this Wellbeing Retreat day had a day full of wellness for the body and mind and I was very lucky to be invited to host the creative workshop as part of their day.

Having met some lovely people along the way including Vicki the day really set the tone for the rest of the weekend and I will definately be back for a little spa myself when I get chance!

We’re hosting a gentle, creative morning just for women — a weekly space to slow down, pick up a brush, and share as much (or as little) as you like.
Creative Connection: An inviting informal women's creativity group
Step into a serene space where you can unwind from the chaos of everyday life and connect with like-minded creative individuals. This session is designed for everyone who would like to escape for a while, even if you have never picked up a paintbrush, pencil, or crafting tool before or if you have! Here, it truly doesn’t matter!
Join us at stART studio for a weekly drop in session starting on Wednesday 14th October for Creative Connection — a supportive session to help relieve anxiety, disconnect from the busy day to day routines and enjoy the switch off of painting, drawing and crafting where the focus is you. No expectation, no need to have painted before but if you have that is fine too, your curiosity, or simply your hands are enough — we’ll bring the friendly welcome, calming music, materials and teas and coffees.

Date & time: weekly starting on the 14 October 2026, 10:30–12:00
Location: stART studio, 16 Market Place, Wymondham NR18 0AX
Spaces are limited — click to book and join our creative community!

This session is offered by our sister company, The stART studio Collaboration CIC, a community-focused organisation committed to providing art classes for everyone at affordable rates. All profits are reinvested to support art accessibility within our community, particularly in Norfolk.

Transparency:

A £5 deposit per person through stART studio solely covers the cost of materials per individual.

The remaining £5, paid on the day, goes towards our community investment in art, supporting our team's hourly wages, community building, and other projects centred around benefiting the entire community.

We hear the same sentence almost every time someone new walks in.

"I should warn you, I can't draw."

It comes before the apron is on, before a single colour has been put out, before anything has actually been tried. And nearly every newcomer arrives convinced they're not a creative person.

Here's the pattern we see. That belief starts to soften the moment their hands meet the medium. The paint, the ink, the clay. The room is full of other people at exactly the same stage, and quietly, without any fuss, the assumption starts to fall away.

We welcome people of every age and every level of experience here in Wymondham, so there's no baseline you're expected to meet when you sit down. Nobody is measuring you against anyone else.

Our rotating workshops cover everything from a watercolour seascape to lino printing, acrylic ink, painting your pet's portrait and paint pouring. Each one can be booked as a single session at £26.65, so the only commitment is one afternoon, one table, and the willingness to see what happens when you actually give it a go.

If you've ever thought "I'm not artistic," you're exactly who we love to see walk through the door. Pick a workshop that sounds fun and book your first session, link in bio.

You've seen it on the new block of art nights. Mixed media. It sounds impressive, maybe a little intimidating. Here's what it actually means when we say it.

Mixed media is just using more than one material or technique in a single piece. Ink over watercolour. A bit of collage worked into acrylic. Pastel laid on top of paint. That's it.

It isn't an advanced specialism you have to work your way up to. It's really just permission to combine things and see what happens.

Our beautiful fox painting on the 30th Sept here in Wymondham is a mixture of acrylic paint, gold ink and fine-liners. You don't need to master one medium before you're allowed to bring two together. Plenty of people arrive having not touched paint since school, and they get on beautifully.

All the materials are provided. You bring the curiosity, and we've got everything your hands need to explore.
