Wymondham College A unique state day and boarding school offering an educational experience unlike any other. There are six boarding houses within the college campus.

Wymondham College is a unique state funded day and boarding school offering an educational experience unlike any other. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds in the UK and overseas and achieve outstanding academic success. The College has an inclusive and caring community with a concern for the individual and a philosophy which celebrates the education of the whole person above mere success in league tables. These surround the school buildings and oversee the extensive 83 acre site. Boarding is organised into six houses with Lincoln Hall providing outstanding ensuite accommodation for Sixth Formers. There are a range of facilities, including a sports hall and gym, sports pitches, a drama studio and indoor swimming pool. The college is located between the small towns of Wymondham and Attleborough, within easy reach of the city of Norwich. The college has good road links to London and the Midlands and there is a local rail service. The College enjoys close links with local and international businesses and has a network of partner schools in countries as diverse as France, Germany, Czech Republic, China and Argentina. Our 2012 OfSTED Boarding Inspection confirmed Wymondham College as one of the country's outstanding boarding schools. A student quoted in the report summed up the experience of Wymondham College: 'I love this school it’s just the best spending this amount of time with your friends".

In celebration of Sixth Form student Tori tells us about her time as a boarding student being far away from home.

“From when I first started at the College in Senior School to now in Year 13, I have truly loved my time here, especially as a boarder. Boarding has helped me build close friendships that I believe will last a lifetime, while also allowing me to form strong friendships with day students.

“Studying Sport has been another highlight, as it allows me to study something I am genuinely passionate about. Being part of the 1st team football has helped me develop my skills, confidence and teamwork while creating unforgettable memories.

“Overall, Wymondham has given me lifelong friendships, valuable experiences and opportunities that have helped shape who I am. I am incredibly grateful for my time here and will always look back on it with pride and appreciation.”

To support our Year 11s in their preparation for upcoming mock exams, Elevate Education were in today running sessions focussed on Time Management which all Year 11 students attended. These sessions explored developing an appropriate and sustainable study routine, how to avoid procrastination, and how to identify the activities which are best suited to maximising learning and retention of knowledge.

Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive about the clarity of the message and their enjoyment of the sessions. We hope the strategies explored prove useful to them over the coming weeks.

The interhouse baking competition has been exciting! Sophia and Tom in Year 13 have organised the interhouse bake-off competition, with each house having now competed twice.
Biscuit week saw Kett coming first with their perfect shortbreads, but Fry won the cupcake round with their creative and eye-catching designs.
This Thursday the houses are competing one final time in bread week, can New Hall or Cavell get a win or will Kett or Fry get a double victory?

Our students enjoyed an exciting trip to New Scientist Live 2026 in London, exploring the fascinating world of science, technology, engineering and innovation!
From emerging technologies to the big scientific questions shaping our future, the exhibition offered an opportunity to see science brought to life beyond the classroom.
Students had the opportunity to:
🔹 Explore the latest developments in science and technology.
🔹 Discover how STEM subjects connect to real-world challenges, from climate change and sustainability to medicine and space exploration.
🔹 Learn about the wide range of careers and pathways available in science, engineering and research.
🔹 See how curiosity, creativity and problem-solving drive scientific breakthroughs.
Most importantly, the visit encouraged students to ask questions, think beyond the curriculum and imagine where their own interests and talents might take them.
A brilliant reminder that science isn't just something we study, it's something that shapes our world and our future!
