Hello 👋 Would you like to join our team of bakers? 👨‍🍳 👩‍🍳 🧁 🥖 🍰 🍪

We hold a weekly market in Wroughton on Friday mornings 9-11am at the Ellendune Community centre.
We are a cooperative market so all work together to set up the market hall from 8am until approximately 11.30 am and then sell our produce together. We also have plants, seasonal produce and crafts plus we run a cafe for our customers too.

You get paid for what you sell minus a small % to cover the market running costs.

This is some more detailed standard information
All cooks must hold a level 2 hygiene certificate. (Easy to do online). They register individually with their local authority EHO dept. They are likely to have their kitchens inspected.
Many of our cooks gain a 5 Star rating.

Our comprehensive full liability insurance is included in the very reasonable membership fee. You don’t pay for a table, you pay a small commission on what you actually sell. This also covers rent and insurance.

We work as a cooperative and sell each others goods grouped together for the duration of the market.

Comprehensive instructions and full packing and labelling assistance is available. Support and help from the market managers is always available.

Let’s talk Eggs ! 🥚 🍳
All the eggs in the pictures are laid by chickens that are roughly the same size… apart from the stunning cockerel in the last pic 😜
We have eggs from 2 different flocks available at our weekly markets and they’ve had a bumper year so far, working very hard for market each week 😁😍 - thank you ladies!
However we have just gone passed the Autumn equinox and now the days are getting shorter and the cooler. Chickens read these seasonal signs as indicators to start getting ready for winter and shed their old feathers ready to grow new ones to keep them warm over the colder months that aren’t that far away now! ❄️ rather than making eggs they regrow their feathers

Did you know that chickens are about 106° all year round so they are wearing their duvets! 🥵

We may have less eggs for sale over the coming weeks, so please place your weekly orders if you enjoy fresh eggs from very happy chickens 🐓

In the pictures you will see a variety of egg colours - determined usually by the feather colours around their ears! But each yummy egg inside is identical in taste and quality 😁
The little egg is what we call a fairy egg and a very occasional blip in a chickens cycle, the crinkly egg is laid by an older hen who doesn’t lay as regularly as her flock mates, we keep those to eat at home as we still value her efforts 😍
