Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision | Worcestershire

Are you a patient, resilient and engaging Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference to a young person's education?
David is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision setting in Worcestershire, providing dedicated 1:1 support to students who may have struggled within mainstream education.
This is a long-term, full-time opportunity, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right person.

The role will involve:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support
Building a positive and trusting relationship with your student
Supporting engagement with learning and day-to-day activities
Helping manage barriers to education
Encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour
Working closely with teaching, pastoral and support staff

Who are we looking for?
Previous experience within education, SEN, alternative provision or youth work would be beneficial, but we're also interested in people from other backgrounds who have the right personality, resilience and ability to connect with young people.
You'll need to be calm, reliable and consistent, with a genuine desire to help students succeed.

A great school support team can make a real difference to the wider school community.
Teachers cannot do everything alone. Pastoral staff, teaching assistants, SEN teams, mentors and other support professionals all contribute to creating an environment where pupils can learn, develop and feel supported.

But having people in place is only part of the picture.
Strong communication, a shared purpose and the right mix of skills and experience help support teams work effectively together and respond to the different needs within a school.
For schools, building the right support team means looking beyond simply filling a vacancy. It means finding people who can contribute to the wider school community and work alongside others to make a difference.
