The Symposium workshop 2026

Screen Printing with Bonnie Craig

Regional Print Centre, Wrexham
19th &20th February.
10am - 4pm.

Experiment with modular screen-printing in this two-day workshop with Bonnie Craig. You’ll build prints gradually using modular units made of up different shapes, lines and textures to explore colour, composition, pattern placement, repetition and variation.

We’ll take a playful and open approach, testing ideas and responding to the work as it’s created rather than planning our prints in advance. Everyone’s prints will be different, and you’ll leave with a selection of your own modular prints and ideas for using play, pattern and process in your work.

You’ll also have the option to develop and rework your prints with weaving, folding and collage to produce simple folded books or 3D forms.
All welcome – from screen-printing newcomers to more experienced printmakers looking to explore new techniques.

PHOTOGRAVURE WORKSHOP WITH JENNY GUNNING

During the 2 day workshop you will make one relief and one intaglio photogravure solar plate from your images. Editing them using photoshop, printing them using an Inkjet P900 Printer onto a brilliant acetate and then exposing them in the UV light box to then develop and cure them. Inking and printing as well onto some lovely somerset and Fabriano papers to show the difference paper makes to the result.Editing using photoshop, step tests for light box timings, and wiping techniques are all important parts of making photogravures and during this workshop you will experience all of these.

The RPC is excited to welcome Ann Lewis RCA - Artist Printmaker as a speaker at our symposium and to the Symposium masterclass here in Wrexham, this 2 day workshop will focus on reduction linoprinting using Hawthorn Stay open inks, traditional lino and high spec equipment, there are still some places available!
