Why you shouldn’t really use a professional video camera to film for Instagram.

Compression kills quality: Instagram heavily compresses video, flattening colours, blurring detail, and crushing dynamic range — all the things you work hard to get right with a pro camera.

Aspect ratio mismatch: You might shoot in 16:9 or even wider, but then Instagram wants vertical (9:16). Cropping or reformatting often ruins your composition.

Audience attention span: High-end visuals might get lost in the scroll. Your perfectly-lit, shallow depth-of-field shot is competing with cat videos and memes.

No creative control over playback: Instagram auto-plays muted, loops strangely, and doesn’t give your work the context or pacing it was supposed meant to have.
