Important Weather Update β
High Temperatures
Dear Parents and Carers,
With the very high temperatures this week, we want to reassure you that we are taking every possible step to keep children safe and comfortable. As you know, our school building has no air conditioning and the site has limited shade, so staff are monitoring pupils closely throughout the day.
To help keep everyone cool, we are:
πEncouraging regular hydration
πProviding ice lollies as a cooling treat
πKeeping children in shaded or indoor areas wherever possible
πMaintaining very low activity levels
πMonitoring all pupils carefully for signs of heat-related discomfort
If you feel your child would be more comfortable at home, you are welcome to collect them early.
Due to the official weather warnings in place, absences related to the heat will be authorised under special circumstances.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to keep everyone safe during this extreme weather.
Many thanks and kind regards
Mrs Acton
Due to the extreme heat forecast for this afternoon, we have made the decision to cancel todayβs Teddy Bearsβ Picnic, which was due to take place from 1:45pmβ2:30pm.
The safety and wellbeing of the children is our priority and we feel it is best for them to remain indoors during the hottest part of the day.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

As St Josephβs have just confirmed that children may wear PE kits tomorrow, Year 6 pupils can attend in their school PE kit for the visit.
Please ensure they bring a water bottle, have sun cream applied before school and bring a hat/cap if possible. βοΈ
Thank you! π

Please ensure they still bring a water bottle, sun cream has been applied before school and they have a hat/cap if possible. βοΈ
Year 6 only: As they are visiting St Josephβs, they will need to wear full school uniform as normal. No Leavers Hoodies.
Thank you! π

Dear Parents, βοΈ
I would like to share details of a junior chess rapidplay event taking place in Wrexham on Saturday 6 June.
There is an Underβ11 section, which would be very suitable for our pupils and would provide an excellent opportunity to experience competitive chess in a supportive environment, and would be an ideal first event if they wish to play competitive chess.
As a school, we are the Wrexham Primary School Chess Champions 2026 πβοΈ, so it would be fantastic to see some of our children taking part and proudly representing the school.
Further details and entry information can be found here:
π https://www.welshchessunion.uk/Wrexham%20Junior%20RP%202026/index.html
Any questions about the event itself should be directed to the organiser, Jonathan Blackburn (contact details are available on the entry page).
Kind regards,
Mrs Gillett
