🍂🧡 Autumn Playdough Fun! 🧡🍂

Our little toddlers had a wonderful time exploring autumn-themed playdough using our exciting aquarium cutters! 🐠🐚⭐️

The children loved getting their hands stuck in, squashing, rolling, pressing and cutting the playdough to create lots of different shapes. They were fascinated by the aquarium-themed cutters and enjoyed discovering the different patterns and impressions they could make. 🐟🦀🐙

There were lots of smiles, conversations and creative ideas as the children experimented with different colours and shapes. Some children enjoyed making their own little creations, while others enjoyed using the cutters again and again to see what they could make! 🍁🎨

This simple activity provided so many opportunities for learning through play — developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, imagination and concentration, while also encouraging the children to explore different textures and colours. ✋🌈

It was lovely to see the children enjoying themselves, sharing the resources and proudly showing their creations to their friends and practitioners. 💕✨

🍂🎨 Autumn Leaf Creations! 🎨🍂

Our preschool children have been getting creative using leaves and glue to make their very own Autumn pictures! 🍁🍃

This fun, hands-on activity supported lots of areas of the children’s development. Using the glue and carefully placing the leaves helped to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and control, while choosing where to place their leaves encouraged creativity, imagination and decision-making. 👐✨

The children also had opportunities to talk about the different colours, shapes and textures of the leaves, supporting their communication and language development. 🗣️🍂

Most importantly, the children were able to express themselves creatively while enjoying the wonderful natural resources that Autumn has to offer! 🥰🍁🌿

💧✨ Today our preschool children enjoyed exploring water, glitter and conkers! 🍂

As they poured, mixed, scooped and experimented, the children were developing their curiosity, creativity and problem-solving skills. They explored cause and effect, noticed changes in texture and appearance, and used language to describe what they could see and feel.

This type of open-ended sensory play supports physical development through pouring and manipulating materials, communication and language through sharing ideas, and cognitive development as children make predictions, test their ideas and discover what happens next.

Most importantly, the children were learning through hands-on exploration, experimentation and play — building confidence as they followed their own ideas and interests. 🌈💦🍂

The toddlers have really enjoyed spending time outside exploring the field and orchard. They have been looking at the changes in nature and enjoying the autumn weather. This has supported their Understanding of the World as they explore the natural environment.

The children have enjoyed building dens using the big tiles. They have worked together, shared ideas and explored how to balance and position the tiles. This has supported their Physical Development, Communication and Language and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

The mud kitchen has been very popular, with the children using mud, water and natural resources to make lots of imaginative creations. They have been developing their language, exploring filling and emptying containers and using their imagination.

We have also enjoyed an autumn tuff tray, exploring leaves, apples and other natural materials. The children have been encouraged to use their senses, make choices and talk about what they can see and feel.

For our creative activity, the children enjoyed apple painting, exploring colours, shapes and patterns. This supported their Expressive Arts and Design while also helping to develop their fine motor skills.

Throughout these activities, the children have been learning through play, developing their confidence, curiosity, independence and ability to explore and try new things

🍂🦔 Fun, creativity and learning at preschool! 🎨

Our children have been having lots of fun exploring autumn through hands-on play. They created adorable hedgehogs using forks and paint, encouraging creativity while developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and confidence.

Outside, we enjoyed collecting leaves, noticing colours, textures and changes in nature, supporting curiosity, language development and understanding of the world. 🍁

The fun continued with sand play and our mud kitchen, where the children mixed, poured, scooped and created their own imaginative recipes. These experiences encourage sensory exploration, problem-solving, communication, social skills and imaginative play. 🪣🌿

Most importantly, the children are learning through play, exploration and having fun together — building skills that support their development and independence every day! ❤️

🎀 WE’RE TAKING PART IN RACE FOR LIFE! 🎀

May 2027, some of our amazing Active Childcare staff (from all 3 settings) will be swapping their nursery shoes for trainers as we take part in Race for Life 5K to raise money for Cancer Research UK. 💗🏃‍♀️

Cancer affects so many families, and this is a cause that is very close to the hearts of many of our staff and families. We’re incredibly proud to be taking on this challenge together and doing our bit to help raise vital funds for life-saving cancer research. 🌸

🍂🍁 Autumn Sensory Exploration! 🍁🍂

Our preschool children have been busy exploring the wonderful textures of Autumn! 🌰🍃 They enjoyed touching, feeling and investigating a variety of natural treasures, including crunchy leaves, conkers and pinecones.

This hands-on experience supported their sensory development, helping them to explore different textures and use descriptive language to communicate what they could feel. 👐✨

It also encouraged curiosity, concentration and critical thinking as the children compared, sorted and investigated the Autumn items. 🍂🔍

Using their hands to explore and manipulate the natural materials also supported fine motor development and hand-eye coordination, while talking together encouraged their communication and language skills. 🗣️💕

Learning through real-life, open-ended experiences makes learning meaningful, engaging and lots of fun! 🥰🍁🌰
