Today we gave our preschool children some simple pieces of paper with eyes on them and let their imaginations take over! 👀✨ It was amazing to see the different characters, creatures and stories they created.

Activities like this support children’s development by encouraging creativity, imagination, language and communication, fine motor skills, problem-solving and confidence. It was lovely to see each child interpret the activity in their own unique way and express their ideas through play. 🎨💭❤️

🎨🌊 A Colourful Afternoon at the Beach! 🌈
This afternoon, our toddlers have been enjoying a wonderful beach-themed Tuff Tray, exploring people and cultures from around the world 🌍👫.
The children loved getting creative with paint, mixing colours, experimenting with different shades and proudly creating their very own colours. There was lots of curiosity, imagination, conversation and sharing as they explored together. 🎨✨
This lovely experience supports the Welsh Curriculum particularly Creative Development, Communication, and Health and Well-being, as the children expressed themselves creatively, developed language through play, explored their ideas and enjoyed learning alongside their friends.

🌿 Learning Through Sensory Play 🦕☕

Our preschool and toddler children have been busy exploring our tough tray, filled with lentils, chickpeas and coffee, alongside beautiful flowers, lotus leaves and dinosaurs. 🌸🍃

Sensory play like this gives children the freedom to scoop, pour, touch, smell, sort and explore at their own pace. As they investigate the different textures, shapes and scents, they are developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, language, creativity, concentration and problem-solving skills.

The open-ended nature of the tray also encourages imaginative play and allows children to make their own discoveries — turning simple, natural materials into a wonderful learning experience. 💚

🐙 Creating a Papermaché Octopus! 🎨

Our preschool children had lots of fun making their very own papermaché octopus! They explored different textures and materials, carefully layering the paper and paste, before adding colour and their own creative details.

This hands-on activity supports child development in so many ways. It encourages fine motor skills through tearing, placing and painting, develops hand-eye coordination, and provides opportunities to build concentration, creativity and problem-solving skills. 🧠✨

Most importantly, the children enjoyed getting messy, working together and seeing their ideas come to life! 💜🐙
