Hi everyone, it’s about time we introduce ourselves!
I’m Courtney, President of the Criminology Society (some of you met me yesterday at the Christmas Quiz), and this is lovely Loretta, our amazing Vice President, to say how excited we are for the next few years within the Criminology Society! The society is all about bringing together a group of people who share a passion for criminology and all things crime, and we can’t wait to hear your ideas and get everyone involved. From guest talks to exciting events, we’ve got plenty planned to explore the subject together. Let’s make these next few years at Wrexham University ones to remember!
I’m going to pop the society’s email on this post so you’re able to get in touch with us to discuss your ideas! Or if you see us around the uni campus please don’t hesitate to come and speak to one of us!☺️

Evening everyone!
As some of you may have noticed, we now have a gorgeous Giftmas tree in the lobby of the main building!🌲
There are lots of different gift tags decorating the tree at the moment to help and support those that need it the most this Christmas, by placing this tree in the lobby Wrexham University are supporting Comfort Cases UK.

Any little helps even if it’s just by sharing this post☺️
If you’re wondering how it works, there’s 3 easy steps;
1.) Choose a gift tag from the tree.
2.) purchase the gift that is on the tag.
3.) return the gift and the gift tag to the people and culture team in room A132 before 5th December☺️

More information can be found on the paper next to the tree❤️

Super proud, a wee star 🌟

One of our Policing students has become the first female Special Constable in North Wales to become an operational Taser Officer.

Katy Bell, who graduated last month with first class honours, successfully completed North Wales Police's Initial Taser training course, meaning she is now authorised to carry a Taser.

Great work, Katy! Read more about her accomplishment here: https://orlo.uk/i0qBy

So this is a very bittersweet post to write.

Our time as runners of the Criminology Society is coming to an end. We are moving onto pastures new and are looking for the next set of students to take on the society. We have massively enjoyed our time here and want to thank everyone who has provided us support and believed in us.

We have our AGM on June 4th where candidates can demonstrate why they they think they should be the ones to take on the society.

Below is a description of the roles and what it takes to be a part of something like this. If you think you’ve got what it takes pop us a message or an email ([email protected]) with your paragraph about why you want the job and we will publish this for everyone to see. Please send these over no later than 28th May if you are interested.

Thank you!!

So we may not have won tonight but we can’t think of a better way to end our 2 years as committee members of the Criminology Society.

For all your support we cannot thank you enough and are proud of all our accomplishments. We wish you luck in the final few weeks of the academic year.

Diolch yn fawr iawn
