After a year of supply and temporary contracts, I have decided to join the classroom once again on a more permanent basis.

Went in to check out my new classroom today, it needs some work, but it is great working with a blank canvas!

I have so many more ideas and things I want to put in place to start the new year well. Being on supply has its advantages, however nothing beats having a space that is your own ❤️

As a biology specialist, I’m confident building my own resources — but for topics outside my specialism (hello efficiency calculations and Sankey diagrams), I use structured, exam-focused materials that I trust.

It means:

Clinging on to lovely moments with my wonderful classes…

After a rough lesson with a poorly behaved class last lesson, I really needed to take a look at all the greatness from the day 🥰

This made me think of how I work… Either calm, orderly and neat, or chaotic and a bit scruffy but gets the job done 🤪

Year 9 are working on Chemistry at the moment, which has meant so many practicals!
Yesterday we perfected how to name salts from reactions between metals and acids… 🧪👩‍🔬🧑‍🔬
