How lucky are we? A wonderful morning with Ma Baker Bakes creating beautiful little plaited loaves of Challah bread as part of our learning about Jewish Celebrations and celebrating their New Year. Bread tasted delicious and each child has gone home with a little goodie bag this afternoon. Diolch yn fawr 🍞

🚗 40Fest Parking Reminder 🚗

We can’t wait to welcome everyone to 40Fest at St. Mary’s School this evening! 🎉

A quick reminder that parking is available away from the school site, and we’d be very grateful if you could make use of these spaces where possible. Parking is not permitted in the school car park or driveway as access needs to remain available for safety.

As our school is located in a residential area, please be mindful of our neighbours by parking carefully, safely and courteously, avoiding blocking driveways or access to local properties.

We’d also appreciate your help in respecting local residents when arriving and leaving later this evening by keeping noise to a minimum.

Thank you for your support and consideration. We’re looking forward to a fantastic evening with you all! 🌟

📚 An Inspiring Afternoon with Author Rachel Morrisroe! ✨
A huge thank you to Booka Bookshop for once again making it possible for Rachel Morrisroe to visit our Foundation Learning pupils and share her wonderful books, The Tale of the Grizzlygrim and Oodles of Poodles.
The children enjoyed a fantastic afternoon filled with fun and laughter, including an interactive quiz, a draw-along session, and the opportunity to hear Rachel read from her stories. The excitement was evident from start to finish, and the children were thoroughly engaged by Rachel's energetic and inspiring visit.
We feel incredibly fortunate to be able to provide our pupils with such rich and memorable reading experiences. Meeting authors in person helps to bring books to life, sparks imagination, and encourages a lifelong love of reading.
A special thank you also goes to our parents and families for supporting these opportunities through their book purchases. Your support helps make experiences like this possible and enriches our children's learning journey.
📖✨ Thank you, Rachel Morrisroe and Booka Bookshop, for another wonderful visit!

⭐️ Message from our Chair of Governors ⭐️

Huge congratulations to all the past St Mary's School students for their exam results (A levels, vocational qualifications, GCSEs and further education) this summer.

Our alumni have gone on to pursue such a range of qualifications and careers, it would be wonderful to find out where they've ended up.

As St Mary's turns 40 this September, we would love to put together a list to inspire our current and future pupils, so please let us know what you/they have been up to!

St Mary's Overton ✨

If any of you lovely people are feeling generous, our local primary school has had their quote through for just ONE year's stationary, just shy of £3000 💔 this equipment isn't provided to the school, they have to fund it themselves, at a time budgets are already being reduced and stretched to breaking point.

This year, we have created an Amazon wishlist with everything the school requires to be able to provide for all children for the upcoming academic year.

Not all children can attend school with a shiny new pencil case filled with everything they may need. This list will help ensure no one is left out.

If you'd like to contribute a few pounds towards an item, please have a little look at the list below
⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

The item will get delivered straight to where it needs to be, so you can sit back and relax, knowing that thanks to you, the school will be able to provide everything a child may need during the year 🫶🏼

💦 Really big thank you to Danny from Alderford lake who came to school this afternoon to present a water safety workshop to our children in years 1-5.
Particularly in this very hot weather, his advice, in support of Drowning Prevention Week has really made us think about how we should and we can stay safe around water over the summer 💦

📰 News, news, news! 📰

As we come to the end of another busy half term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our parents and carers for your continued support. It makes a real difference to the life of our school and is greatly appreciated by both staff and pupils.

Our newsletter highlights just some of the many exciting experiences and achievements that have taken place over the past few weeks. We are incredibly proud of all that our children have accomplished.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the final half term.
Diolch,
Mr Morris and all the staff at St Mary's.
