⭐️ Message from our Chair of Governors ⭐️

Huge congratulations to all the past St Mary's School students for their exam results (A levels, vocational qualifications, GCSEs and further education) this summer.

Our alumni have gone on to pursue such a range of qualifications and careers, it would be wonderful to find out where they've ended up.

As St Mary's turns 40 this September, we would love to put together a list to inspire our current and future pupils, so please let us know what you/they have been up to!

St Mary's Overton ✨

If any of you lovely people are feeling generous, our local primary school has had their quote through for just ONE year's stationary, just shy of £3000 💔 this equipment isn't provided to the school, they have to fund it themselves, at a time budgets are already being reduced and stretched to breaking point.

This year, we have created an Amazon wishlist with everything the school requires to be able to provide for all children for the upcoming academic year.

Not all children can attend school with a shiny new pencil case filled with everything they may need. This list will help ensure no one is left out.

Please join us on 19th September as we celebrate a fabulous 40 years of St Mary’s School, Overton! 🎉

To mark this very special milestone, we’re bringing together past and present pupils, families and friends of St Mary’s for a fantastic celebration.

There’ll be music and performances from talented past pupils, delicious food and drinks, and plenty of fun for everyone to enjoy.

We’d love to see as many of you as possible there to help us celebrate 40 wonderful years of St Mary’s! ❤️

💦 Really big thank you to Danny from Alderford lake who came to school this afternoon to present a water safety workshop to our children in years 1-5.
Particularly in this very hot weather, his advice, in support of Drowning Prevention Week has really made us think about how we should and we can stay safe around water over the summer 💦

As we come to the end of another busy half term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our parents and carers for your continued support. It makes a real difference to the life of our school and is greatly appreciated by both staff and pupils.

Our newsletter highlights just some of the many exciting experiences and achievements that have taken place over the past few weeks. We are incredibly proud of all that our children have accomplished.

🌟 A huge thank you to the children who helped to hand out the finisher medals at Wrexham 10K this morning! 🥇 🌟

They represented the school brilliantly - polite, respectful, and a real credit to us all. Their enthusiasm and encouragement made such a difference to the runners crossing the finish line, and we are incredibly proud of the way they carried themselves throughout the event.

A huge congratulations to all of the finishers, what an amazing achievement! It was especially lovely to see some of our wonderful school parents taking part too. A fantastic day all round and a great example of our community spirit in action! 🌟

⭐️ Congratulations to our quiz team, such a close run battle with high scores all round ⭐️

A huge congratulations to our football and netball teams who played against St. Chad’s, Hanmer in a fantastic afternoon of friendly fixtures!

Our football team secured a brilliant 3–1 victory, while the netball team delivered a strong performance across their games, winning 2, drawing 1, and narrowly losing 1.

A fantastic effort from everyone involved, showing great determination, teamwork, and spirit throughout!
