I couldn’t be more excited about the next few months of classes Sewing & Dressmaking Courses & Workshops | Shropshire | Wrexham

This is one of my fave features on a sewing machine, it’s so handy!

I love the needle up/ down button because it can help with your sewing in a couple of different ways

1. Handy to help you pick up the bobbin thread if you need to

2. If you press this button before you start sewing, when you stop sewing your needle will always stay down in your fabric, this means if you need to straighten out your fabric, pivot, check underneath your sewing etc, you won’t lose your place and get skipped stitches

3. Because it controls the needle height, when you stop sewing if you use it to bring your needle up it means the thread has finished passing over the bobbin so when you pull your fabric out there’s no chance of it getting stuck.

Yay it’s fabric Friday!!!

Last week we had a delivery of new fabrics into the studio and I just had to show you a couple of our new linen mix fabrics as they are STUNNING.

Love hearts is 30%linen and 70% viscose
Blue flowers is 55% linen and 45% viscose

Both £6phm

Both have the most beautiful drape

Both would make GORGEOUS trousers, dresses, skirts

I can’t believe it’s almost the studios second birthday!

We’ve been teaching our classes since early 2022 but moved into our permanent home in September 2024!

To celebrate we’re hosting an open day come birthday party and you are invited!

There will be goody bags full of lovely sewing treats, a raffle to win a sewing machine as well as other prizes.

If you’ve always struggled to find jeans that fit just right, this is your chance to make a pair that are completely yours.

Over four weeks you’ll learn the techniques that go into sewing denim, from fitting and construction to all those classic finishing details that make handmade jeans look professionally made.

Whether you’ve made a few garments before and are ready for your next challenge, or you’ve been dreaming about tackling jeans for a while, we’ll guide you through every step.
