What a brilliant way to get our school year underway! 💙✨
Yesterday, Mr Jones had a fantastic time welcoming everyone back to Blue Coat as we came together for our first worship of the year! 🙌 It was wonderful to see so many happy faces and to start the year together as a school family.
We’re already off to a great start - bring on the year ahead! 🌟📚🎉

We’re readvertising our Play Team role and are looking for friendly, fun and reliable people who love working with children, enjoy being outdoors and understand the value of great play! 💙

The role involves providing active, social and creative play opportunities for our pupils at lunchtime, while also working alongside our catering team to make sure everyone gets their lunch on time.

🕚 Monday–Friday, 11.45am–1.30pm
📚 Term time only
💷 £4,980 actual salary per annum / £415 per month
📅 Closing date: 4 September 2026

🚨 BREAKING NEWS… BLUE COAT IS BACK!🚨

And just like that… the summer holidays are over and the school gates are officially OPEN! 🎉💙

We’re kicking off the new school year with a cracking new video from our social media team, featuring some of our very own Blue Coat school influencers! 🎬⭐

While everyone was enjoying the summer sunshine, we were busy behind the scenes giving our Year 5 & 6 toilets a much-needed update. ✨🚻

Naturally, we thought the best way to show off the new look was with a video… and, well… we may have laughed slightly more than was professionally necessary!😂

What an incredible year it has been! 💙

A huge thank you to all of our amazing pupils, dedicated staff, supportive families, and wider school community for making this year so special. We are so proud of everything that has been achieved, from big milestones to everyday successes.

To our wonderful Year 6 pupils, we wish you every success as you begin the next chapter of your educational journey. Be proud of how far you've come, embrace every new opportunity, and never stop believing in yourselves. We know you'll go on to do amazing things! 🌟

To everyone else, thank you for your hard work, kindness, and enthusiasm throughout the year. We hope you all have a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer break.

We can't wait to welcome you all back in September, ready for another exciting year of learning and making memories together.

📸 Honest social media time...

We’ve had so much going on this week that we’re slightly overwhelmed by the number of photos to sort through and the time needed to post them all! 😅

So, while we catch our breath, here’s a little glimpse of our Moving Up Morning.

Whilst the rest of the school were busy meeting their new teachers and classmates, our wonderful Year 6 pupils rolled up their sleeves and got to work helping in our EYFS classrooms. Some were sorting jigsaws and organising resources, while others were lending a hand elsewhere.

They did a fantastic job and showed exactly why they have been such great role models this year. As they prepare to move on, it’s lovely to know that our younger pupils have had such positive examples to look up to. 💙

🎭🌟 That's a wrap!

Our Year 6 pupils have now completed their end-of-year production, and what a show it was! Every single pupil was absolutely brilliant, and we couldn't be prouder of the part each of them played in making the performance such a success.

From singing and acting to backstage teamwork, confidence and commitment, they truly shone from start to finish. ⭐👏

Here are some wonderful photos from Friday, when they were living the high life after their dress rehearsal before taking to the stage for their fantastic performances!

☕🍰 A Wonderful End-of-Term Treat! 🍰☕
Our Ignite Club enjoyed a lovely end-of-term visit to The Ark Café in Wotton-under-Edge.
We were delighted to be joined by the Open the Book Team, and it was our pleasure to treat them to coffee and cake as a small thank you for everything they do to support Blue Coat. Their enthusiasm and engaging storytelling help bring Bible stories to life for our pupils, making each visit memorable and inspiring.
A huge thank you to the Open the Book Team for all their time and dedication, and to everyone who helped make it such a special afternoon. 💙

🥎 A few weeks ago, a valiant team of our Year 5 pupils travelled to Alexander Hosea for an exciting game of rounders.

The team showed fantastic determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the match, and we were incredibly impressed by the standard of their play. They represented Blue Coat brilliantly and should be very proud of their efforts.

Well done to everyone who took part! 💙👏
