We have focused our chats this week on different types of transport combined with Road Safety. Walking on the pavement, holding a grown up's hand and learning to "Stop - Look - Listen - Think before crossing the road will hopefully be the things we have embedded in the children's thinking through our activities and discussions.

Free play is a vital part of early childhood development, allowing children to explore, create, and learn at their own pace. Through free play, children develop social skills, communication, problem-solving abilities, creativity, and independence. Free Play also supports physical development, emotional well-being, and self-confidence as children learn to make choices, take risks, and interact with others. By following their own interests and ideas, children build the foundations for lifelong learning and positive relationships. At Busy Bees our whole week is based on these principles and we love watching how the children grow in confidence and flourish whilst they are with us.

Goldilocks and the 3 bears has been the theme this week. Listening to the story has taught the children to start to think about how to sequence events, differentiate size, respect the property of others, think about different emotions, use props to support storytelling and join in with different craft activities. We have enjoyed another fun week together and experienced a variety of changing weather conditions!

This week has been all about messy play at Busy Bees! Messy play is vital for early childhood development, providing rich sensory experiences. These experiences build connections in developing brains, support fine motor development and foster creativity. Through exploring textures, children learn to solve problems, develop language skills, and build confidence since there is no "right or wrong" way to play. We have had loads of fun together this week at Busy Bees, enjoy half term and stay safe in the sun. XX

This week we have included lots of number resources in our environment, outside and indoors. This has supported the children's developing understanding of numbers and counting. We have also recited finger number rhymes together, counted how many children and teachers were sitting together at register time, and looked at different numbers together. We have books about numbers too. Another productive week together at Busy Bees.

We followed the theme of construction this week. This supported the children's developing cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. We also saw some children starting to display leadership skills and the capability of project management! A great start to the summer term.

Spring is widely recognized as a season of renewal and growth, and we have discussed this with the children this week through our circle time discussions at register time and craft activities. Triggered by increased light and warmth, the season of spring brings budding trees, blooming flowers, baby animals and more sunny days which we have talked about together. Enjoy the two week break, we will start back on 13th April.😊
