Yesterday I had to rush one of my cats to the emergency vet and cancel my classes at very short notice.
I texted a few people, hoping they’d spread the word.
Then one class replied:
“It’s fine. We’re going to do the class ourselves.”
And shortly afterwards, these photos arrived. ❤️
I’ve joked for years that if anything ever happened to me, some of my clients know enough to carry on without me.
Yesterday they proved it.
These ladies have worked with me for several years and I’ve watched them become stronger, move more confidently, get up and down from the floor with ease and completely change the way they walk into the room.
And this is exactly what I want my classes to be about.
Not simply copying exercises because I told you to do them.
Understanding WHY you’re doing them, what you’re trying to change, what you feel in your own body and how to adapt a movement to suit you.
My goal has always been to teach people enough about their own bodies that they feel confident moving without me.
Apparently, I’ve succeeded rather too well. 😂
They happily carried on for 45 minutes — and on a pretty stressful day, that made me incredibly proud.
