What a way to start the week…..
Today we went on a Autumn treasure hunt at Sheffield Park!
Autumn is by far the best time to visit and Mother Nature didn’t let us down…..the autumnal colours on display were just stunning and we collected some amazing ‘treasure’ as we explored the park 🍂 🍁

After my last dose of sunshine for year in Lanzerote last week it’s time to start planning for the coming of Autumn 🍂
As sad as I am for the summer to end, I just love the endless learning opportunities this season provides…..starting off with conker and pine cone rolling 🍂

If you’ve never visited the Field Place steam engines, now’s your chance! We love riding the miniature trains 🚂

We are running trains at Field Place, this Sunday 27th September.
Starting at 1.30pm until 4.30pm. Refreshments available. The miniature trains are subject to weather conditions.

After a week off following the shenanigans of the summer holidays it’s the start of a new term with some new faces joining Pebbles Childcare.
It’s been such a lovely week welcoming the C and C to the Pebbles family.
Their settling in visits over the summer meant their first week of full sessions was seamless.
We’ve enjoyed an outing on the bus to town to experience market day, a visit to the library to choose some new books and following C’s interest in sand play (which has featured a lot throughout the week, including some sand art) we also spent a lovely morning in the sand dunes at West Beach.
The children have had a great week getting to know each other through their play and sharing experiences throughout the flow of the day. I couldn’t be happier with how they’ve settled in and to see how friendships are being formed ❤️

Such a fun week, sad (as it’s the last week!) but such good fun!
We’ve packed on some fantastic activities this week!
We created tie dye t-shirts, experienced a soundbath, enjoyed a great football session at The Rotary, we made journey sticks and climbed trees at the Secret Garden, and took a trip to Worthing Museum and Art Gallery!
This week, we’ve seen some epic builds as LEGO has been the most used piece of equipment in the playroom!
The children have been extremely creative inspired by a book about different artists and the style techniques they used (hence the visit to our local art gallery)
Sadly, Pebbles has had to say goodbye to two of our under 5’s as they start school next week. Good luck R and O. We’re really going to miss you ❤️
I hope the children have had a good summer…..I know I’ve had a blast!
My house is sooooooo quiet now (too quiet!) But I very much look forward to seeing everyone in the October half term!
Hope the return to school goes well for everyone!

That’s what I love the most about being a homebased childcarer! Being able to provide a rich and varied learning environment which offers new and diverse experiences…..

Today we welcomed Chloe Penney to hold an outdoor soundbath for the children.

Chloe explained that there are a number of benefits of a sound-bath session:
Nervous System Regulation: Resonant sounds activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps lower heart rates, reduce physical arousal, and ease stress.
Emotional Expression and Mindfulness: Children learn how to identify, feel, and express their emotions without judgment while practicing early mindfulness.
Better Sleep: The soothing vibrations help ease nighttime restlessness, bedtime anxiety, and racing thoughts.
Focus and Concentration: Relaxing the mind can improve cognitive function, leading to enhanced attention, creativity, and learning capabilities.

The garden was set up with blankets and cushions and the children settled themselves down to watch at first, then lay and listen to the sounds and feel the vibrations from the bowls, gongs, rain maker and drums.

The children also had the chance to investigate the instruments at the end of the session as they chatted with Chloe and each other about their experience during the soundbath.

(Only wish I got to lay down and relax as well!!!)

And just like that week 3 is done!
After a cracking start to the week at our yoga and meditation session, the children enjoyed a picnic lunch and play at Homefield Park!
We got soaked on a walk to the woods at Hillbarn Golf course, but that didn’t stop the children exploring the woodland, blackberry picking, climbing, balancing and running up and down the ramps and fallen trees.
The children wanted to bake, so R led the activity by reading out the ingredients and method and delegating the jobs (it tasted fab!)
The dolls house has been a favourite amongst the children this week and with P’s Slyvanian Families that she bought in, extended to a whole small world they built up the stairs (yes, it was raining outside!)
Can’t believe it’s our final week next week! ❤️
