Starting the week right! 🧘
A yoga and meditation session with Kate Wright Yoga.
Guided by Kate, the children practised mindful breath work, created their own yoga flow using poses such as child’s pose, upward and downward dog and tree. Rounding off the session in shavasana and a mini guided mediation.
Proud of the children for trying something different and for giving it their all ❤️

Week 2 has been all about circus skills, giant bubbles, foraging and elderberry cordial, potions and slime, oh as well as some lovely play and creativity!
The children were brilliant at circus skills with Poi Passion Circus and Fire Arts. Developing balance, hand eye coordination and new skills.
We took advantage of the fruit available in our local park and went foraging for elderberries to make cordial from.
We made the special giant bubble mix and had great fun trying to make gigantic bubbles!
All the children loved the cornflour slime on Wednesday! No matter what age, they all got involved and enjoyed this sensory play experience ❤️
Another wonderful week…..here’s to the next ❤️

The children had the BEST morning with Poi Passion Circus and Fire Arts 🎪
They learned how to spin plates, do tricks (sort of!) with a Diablo, hula hoop and juggle with Kate and Oakley!
A lot of determination and perseverance on display as the children tackled each challenge! Such a fun morning! THANK YOU Kate ❤️

What a wonderful first week of summer holiday shenanigans!
It’s so lovely to welcome the school children back after that long last summer term at school. I know I go on about it, but I marvel at how they slip back into the their routine, pick up friendships and emerse themselves in their play.
We kicked off the week with a trip to the pier to play the 2p machines! Thanks to the new summer incentive by Stagecoach, the children are able to travel for free on the bus so we’re able to get out and about more this summer ❤️
We couldn’t ignore Worthing Play Day that was going on on Wednesday, and spent a fun morning icing biscuits, exploring a drum kit, having a bounce on the bouncy castle and enjoying a kick around with the footballs.
The gang created their own advert for their newly formed cheer leading club! Using the iPad they took on different role and worked together to film edit and perform in the short video!
Together with some lovely play back at base, I can safely say that was a fun first week!

This week we’ve been dog sitting, riding miniature steam trains, wave jumping at the beach, trawler and yacht spotting at Shoreham harbour as well as using self scanners at B&Q!
The children rose to the occasion and looked after Monty who came to stay for a morning this week. Making sure he was happy, holding his lead and taking him for a walk around d the Secret Garden!
One of the children brought in a helicopter from home which immediately became a part of their pirate small world play, which eventually transferred to the tuff spot and the cars and transport were also added! (Plus some planks of wood for bridges!)
As part of our weekly checks on their sunflowers and tomatoes I set up an invitation to paint some sunflowers (using a bunch that I was given). They produced some beautiful art 🌻
Following our learning last week about fishing and looking at our local small wooden fishing boats, we took a trip over to Shoreham harbour to see if we could spot a big fishing boat. After admiring all the different yachts and boats (and even spotting a lifeboat) we found a trawler and continued our chats about how fish are caught.
We welcomed one of our new September starters in for a settling in session this week! Proud of how the children did their best to make her feel welcome, show her around and invited her to play ❤️
After a busy week, we finished the day yesterday with a walk into Broadwater for an end of term treat at Muldoons!
Well that’s me for a week now! Ill be back to work on Monday 27th July!
