Testing out my outdoor accommodation today!

Thankfully I don’t have to do this every night. Sadly some young people do, and they do it every night in dangerous conditions. This is not right.

So… I am sleeping out for one night on the Brighton Palace Pier to raise funds so that young people who do this every night get the support they need from the Clock Tower Sanctuary. CTS will help these kids get a safe roof over their heads.

We are back at Found this afternoon. So if you looking for something for the kids to do on this strike day, come down to the cafe from 3.30 pm We are there every fortnight and are they building LEGO mosaics. Mosaics are a great activity for the kids, and it is a great mindful activity. I made this model to support the West Sussex Save Our Schools campaign back in 2017. I was at the start of my teaching career and pretty shocked that chronic under funding meant that redundancies were an annual event in schools, even in this vital profession.
Six years later and the funding situation is even more dire. A fully government (not school funded) pay rise is the only way to stem the exodus from the teaching profession and enable those who remain in the classroom to deliver well resourced positive educational experiences.
I’m proud to be striking with the National Education Union tomorrow and hope that this last resort results in a fairer deal for schools, the students we teach and their families.

This is why teachers are striking next Wednesday. Its been a very difficult decision but if we do not make a stand now, I fear for the future of education in this country.
