What a wonderful day we’ve had at the Lovejoy Centre!
Today was certainly a day for celebrating as we wished a very Happy Birthday to Katrina, Sylvia, Val and our lovely Roz — four birthdays all within days of each other! Each of our birthday ladies received flowers or a beautiful flowering plant, and of course there was plenty of delicious birthday cake to share around.
Our day was filled with all the things we love at Lovejoy — puzzles, colouring, reminiscence, conversation, laughter and simply enjoying one another’s company. It was also lovely to see Katrina knitting today. Something as familiar as knitting can bring back so many memories and naturally open up wonderful conversations about years gone by. That is reminiscence at its best — not forced, but simply happening through shared experiences and familiar activities.
We also welcomed a lovely gentleman for a taster session today, which went extremely well, and we’re delighted that he will be joining our Lovejoy family from next week.
Looking around the room today and seeing everyone busy, talking, smiling and enjoying being together was just lovely. This is what Lovejoy is all about — friendship, fellowship, memories, laughter and making sure that everyone has something to celebrate.
Happy Birthday again to Katrina, Sylvia, Val and Roz. We hope you all felt thoroughly celebrated today! ❤️

Another lovely day at the Lovejoy Centre!
We’ve had such an enjoyable and busy day together today. Our morning included puzzles, reminiscence, conversation and a good old singalong, with everyone getting involved and enjoying time together.
After lunch it was time to get creative! We enjoyed an arts and crafts afternoon, colouring and decorating wooden bird ornaments and creating some wonderfully colourful picture frames. Everyone put their own individual touch on their creations, and we had some fantastic finished results!
It was lovely to see everyone so engaged, chatting, laughing and enjoying the activities together. Sometimes it’s the simple things — sitting around a table, being creative and enjoying good company — that make for the nicest days.
Another happy day of friendship, creativity and making memories at the Lovejoy Centre. ❤️

Lovejoy Centre! ❤️
Today we enjoyed a very special visit to the beautiful English Martyrs Church in Goring, where we had the opportunity to see the incredible reproduction of the Sistine Chapel ceiling. We were given a fascinating and very accessible talk about the paintings and the history behind them, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed taking in the amazing artwork and beautiful stained-glass windows.
It was particularly lovely that the church held special memories for one of our group, who had previously been involved there. It made our visit all the more meaningful. ❤️
From there we travelled on to Ferring Country Centre, where we enjoyed a lovely lunch together before heading out to see the animals. Everyone had a great time — and some of our group were even brave enough to get up close and give the animals a stroke!
A HUGE thank you to David from Dial-a-Ride, who was an absolute legend today! Not only did he drive our minibus, but he very kindly stepped in and helped us throughout the day. We were incredibly grateful for his kindness and support.
And, of course, a massive thank you to our wonderful Lovejoy Centre staff and to Roz, our volunteer, for all their hard work, patience and care in making sure everyone was supported and able to enjoy the day.
Lots of smiles, fresh air, beautiful things to see, good food and lovely company. A very full day — but a very successful one! ❤️

💜 What a fun-filled day we’ve had at the Lovejoy Centre today! 💜
There has been so much laughter, movement, music and good old-fashioned fun! 🎶🎈
We enjoyed parachute activities together, followed by our balloon and racket game — although our first balloon didn’t survive very long! 😂🎈 One enthusiastic hit and POP! The room erupted with laughter, and thankfully balloon number two fared a little better!
We also got musical, singing some of our favourite songs while waving our bright blue and pink tinsel pom-poms 💙🩷✨ There’s something wonderful about seeing everyone joining in, singing, moving and simply enjoying being together.
Alongside all the energetic fun, there was time for quieter activities, conversation and companionship too.
Days like today remind us that meaningful activity doesn’t have to be complicated. A balloon, a song, a colourful parachute and, most importantly, people sharing the moment together can bring so much joy.
Lots of smiles, lots of laughter and another lovely Wednesday at the Lovejoy Centre. 💜
