❤️ Another wonderful day at the Lovejoy Centre! ❤️
Today was full of laughter, friendship, conversation and plenty of activity as our lovely members enjoyed puzzles, word games, Snakes & Ladders, colouring, reminiscence, singing and lots more. 🧩🎨🎶
We also held our Dementia-Friendly Church Service, giving everyone the opportunity to come together for worship, familiar hymns, prayer and fellowship. 🙏🏽⛪❤️
For us, dementia care is about so much more than simply filling the day. It is about connection, purpose, stimulation, choice, belonging and creating moments of joy.
And, of course, no Lovejoy Centre day would be complete without plenty of cups of tea, biscuits and good conversation! ☕🍪😊

What a wonderful day we’ve had at the Lovejoy Centre today! 💜🌻
It was another fun-filled, positive and very busy day with plenty of laughter, conversation and lovely memories being made together.
We enjoyed puzzles, quizzes, musical bingo, brain aerobics, colouring and creative activities, including some fabulous ladybird artwork! 🐞🎨 There was lots of concentration around the tables, but plenty of smiles too!
We also had a birthday to celebrate today — Happy Birthday to Delia! 🎂🎉 Of course, no birthday celebration would be complete without some cake!
We were also delighted to welcome Susan, the newest member of our group. It was lovely having her with us and we hope she will enjoy many more happy days at the Centre. 💕
One particularly precious moment today was seeing the sheer delight over a Poldark colouring book. It was so loved that it even received a kiss when it was handed over! 🥹❤️ It really is the little things that can bring the biggest smiles.
Days like today remind us that meaningful activity isn't simply about keeping busy. It's about engagement, stimulation, friendship, achievement, laughter, belonging and making memories together.
A thoroughly enjoyable day from beginning to end and judging by these photographs, I think the smiles say it all! 💜

🛍️ And we even managed to pop into town!

Another wonderful day making memories together! 🦅🌿☀️

Today our Lovejoy Centre group enjoyed a fantastic trip to Huxley's Birds of Prey Centre, and what a lovely day it was!
The weather was perfect, the countryside drive was beautiful and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We watched some incredible flying displays, learnt about a wide variety of magnificent birds of prey and even had opportunities to get a little closer to some of these amazing creatures.
For one of our lovely members, John, who has a real passion for birds, today was especially meaningful. Seeing his excitement and enthusiasm reminded us why these outings are so important.
There was plenty of laughter, conversation, fresh air, delicious refreshments and, most importantly, precious moments shared together. Even our staff commented on what a lovely day it had been.
At the Lovejoy Centre we believe dementia should never stop someone from continuing to experience joy, wonder and new adventures. Days like today create memories, stimulate conversation, encourage social interaction and simply bring smiles to so many faces.
A huge thank you to everyone at Huxley's for making us feel so welcome.

💜 A Wonderful Day with our Out & About Club 💜
Today we enjoyed another fantastic day making memories together.
We spent the afternoon at the beautiful Beach House Park, enjoying the fresh air, spotting birds and taking time to appreciate the wonderful green spaces around us. Nature offers so many opportunities for conversation, reminiscence and gentle orientation, all of which are so valuable for people living with dementia.
From there we headed to Morrisons, where we shopped together for tomorrow's lunch. Everyday activities like shopping help promote independence, confidence and meaningful engagement.
Back at the Centre there was plenty more fun to be had with puzzles, games, creative activities, laughter and of course a well-earned ice lolly! 🍦 John also proudly completed his beautiful ladybird artwork, which he was delighted to show everyone.
At the Lovejoy Centre we believe dementia care is about so much more than keeping people occupied. It's about creating purpose, encouraging independence, building friendships and ensuring every day is filled with meaningful moments.
Days like today remind us why we love what we do. 💜
"Seeing Dementia Differently."

💜 Another lovely day at Lovejoy Centre! 💜
Today was one of those days that reminds us why we love what we do.
We enjoyed a wonderful variety of activities including puzzles, colouring, potato stamp painting and a fun mini beast themed afternoon. Using potatoes to create ladybirds on long grass brought lots of smiles, laughter and creativity, with everyone adding their own artistic flair to their pictures.
We also worked through our new Mini Beast Memories Quiz Book, and it was so encouraging to see everyone engaging so well. The quizzes sparked conversation, memories and plenty of discussion. Moments like that make all the hard work behind creating these resources so worthwhile.
Later we enjoyed activities from our Brain Workout Activity Book, followed by a lively game of Musical Bingo, before finishing with more creative painting.
With the warm weather, keeping everyone comfortable was a priority. We made sure everyone stayed well hydrated throughout the day with lots of drinks, three rounds of ice lollies, and a lovely lunch together.
It really was one of those special afternoons filled with smiles, creativity, friendship and meaningful engagement.
Seeing people living with dementia laughing, creating, reminiscing and simply enjoying the moment is what Lovejoy Centre is all about.

🦆🌳 An Afternoon at Brooklands Park 🦢
This afternoon, John enjoyed a visit to the beautiful Brooklands Park, where we spent time watching the wonderful variety of birds that call the lake home.
As a keen bird enthusiast, John thoroughly enjoyed spotting robins, ducks, swans, gulls and other wildlife while taking in the peaceful surroundings. Sometimes it's the simple things in life that bring the greatest joy—a gentle walk, nature, fresh air and sharing a conversation together.
At Lovejoy Centre, we believe in creating meaningful moments centred around each person's interests, helping people continue to enjoy the hobbies and passions that are important to them.
A lovely afternoon full of smiles, nature and making memories together. 💙
