The return of the autumn sunshine this week has been most welcomed ☀️ 🍂
Some of the children and teachers have enjoyed some off site outings to the beach and to the park where their learning has been extended through the different outdoor environments.

We have been so proud of our Early Explorer's on our outings. They listen beautifully to the teachers instructions, and walk sensibly and calmly holding the teachers hands to keep them safe.

Outings provide opportunities to develop all areas of learning, including maths, knowledge and understanding of the world, as well as physical development ✨️

♻️ RESCUE YOUR RECYCABLES ♻️

This coming week we'll be exploring recycling, what it means for us and our planet, and what can be recycled.

The children are already fantastic 'Waste Warriors' by separating their recycling between plastics, paper, and food waste 🦸🏽‍♂️🦸‍♀️

If you have any clean recycling or unwanted craft items at home (ribbon, buttons, tape, etc) that we could use for junk modelling please bring it in from Monday.

The children's creative imaginations run wild when the learning is open ended...who knows where their junk modelling creation will take them! 📦✨️

MAKATON SIGNING 👍

Makaton is a unique language programme that combines signs, symbols, and spoken speech to help people with learning or communication difficulties express themselves.

At Early Explorer's we use Makaton sign language or symbols, alongside the spoken word to support language and communication with all our children so everyone feels included.

Each week the children are learning a new Makaton sign.

Last week, they learnt the sign for 'Mum' (see video link below)

🍂 WELCOME TO AUTUMN TERM 2026 🍂

We have enjoyed a fun packed week at Early Explorer's as our returning children settled back in after the summer break, and we welcomed some of our new children.

The children have adapted to the nursery routine and have been busy exploring all areas of the nursery, including our new 'Under 2's area'.

Some of the children are already building new friendships, and our returning children are being super supportive to our new children which is wonderful to see 💞

We have two new teachers that have joined us, Jam and Oceanna 🩷

We hope your children have enjoyed the first week of term as much as we have.
We have more new children settling-in next week and I know they will all feel very welcomed 🥰

An Autumn walk in the park Friday afternoon provided the children with real life experiences of nature, and opened up conversations about wildlife and their habitats 🍂
They watched quietly as the squirrels scurried around looking for food 🐿🥜
They saw and smelt fresh flowers ⚘️
They played in the boat, pretending to be on an adventure on the open sea ⛵️
They held hands and chatted away to each other, connecting with their friends 🩷

The walked beautifully to and from Beach House Park, holding hands and listening to the teachers instructions to keep themselves safe.

These real life experiences are fundamental to a child's learning and development ✨️
